I couldn't have said it better, there is a lot of iPhone hate out there, not because they have used it, but quite the contrary. I find most of the hate comes from those who have not used it and are stuck in their old ways. When someone gets around to using one, even if they don't buy one, their opinion seems to change. "Well, it is a good phone, but just not for me"

I knew despite it's drawbacks that it was going to to provide a better experience then WM. And they keep knocking it out of the park with every update and hardware release. Great Article!

Great thing about Apple is they won't take a good idea from someone else and throw it in. They will take the concept and refine it to fit in their overall scheme then get people excited for it and launch it. Which in the end make it their own and not a copy.

I agree and disagree. I think Apple just likes to do things right, but to a fault. I'm sure they have messed around with he idea of a Today Screen but just have not figured out how to implement it Apple style. Same goes with apps communicating with one another. Apple's core mobile OS is still taking shape. I imagine they don't want to take a leap like that until it is the foundation has completely taken shape. To be honest with you, I do not know what 3.0 has in store yet. 1,000 APIs are a lot. Maybe it is in there already.
I guess all I am saying is that Apple proves (most of the time) that the reason they don't do a certain thing or are waiting on something is to provide the best possible experience for the user, usually we all benefit from it.

I had my doubts, but after I downloaded the app and was messing with it in the living room my kids looked up at me, told me to stop, then left the room. Unexpected benift :)

But then I tried it on my dogs, at first it didn't work. That is what I expect. Without much hope of success I changed the range a few times. Then Buddy tilted his head and walked away. I called him back over and he jumped up on me. After using this app he got down and dulled away. This worked for jumping on furniture, the kids, etc. In my amazemt it worked. But a side note. My beagle never responded. Your results may vary. It is worth the download and a few min of tweaking to see if you can get a humane way to dicipline your pets or just annoy your kids or spouse

I am always disappointed to see why people won't follow various people on Twitter. Twitter has been gaining ground in the main stream and there are a lot of new non-techsavy users. There are many points in your article that a new user or even a new business owner would be dealing with during their learning curve. It is our jobs as experienced users to follow them and educate them. Otherwise twitter continues to fill up with these annoyances. Sometimes I shake my head at the arrogance the internet breeds.

Who?... Just kidding, i was a teen when MTV was relevant. They missed the bandwagon on the social internet thing. They should have been on the bleeding edge of it. Heck they should have started it. But even after it took of, MTV waited, sure it may have been to late, but it makes you wonder if MTV has a young hip crowd running it or just a bunch of stodgy old men.

This move has actually done alot. Not only do I feel the situation has been rectified, but Steve (in my eyes) comes out looking like a genius again. The bottom line is he:

A. Makes an extra $100 off of early adoptors
B. Makes profits off of the Apple Store sales.
C. Defuses the angry mob
D. Will quite possibly bring in more than the "$100" given back with possible extra purchases in the store.
