I applaud your goal. I'd love to do the same. But you're right when you say you have to pick the proper topic. A blog about social media just might not make it. But something like Steve Pavlina's personal development blog would have a better chance. Mass market is the way to go if you want massive subscribers.

With that said, I'm subscribing. Hehe. Your tactic is working. :)

Great article on these two Chinese women. The fact that I'm Chinese makes me even prouder of their accomplishments. I look up to the Chinese in mainland China for their diligence to attain wealth. Now if they can only solve the harm they're causing the planet. I think they will.

LOL!!!! It's strange to think of money as another person in your life. But it does have some parallels. I sometimes take my money for granted. I usually regret this when my money is gone. Interesting parallel. :)

I often struggle with this problem of worrying too much. In fact it's a major source of tension between me and my girlfriend. She's always saying that I'm a negative thinker. I always think of the worse case scenario. I think I get the trait from my mom. :)

Anyways, I am working on looking more into the positive side of things.

You are absolutely right about information overload. I've read quite a few eBooks myself and one thing I noticed is that most of these are copycat products. The adsense guys all learn from Joel Comm and they paraphrase his material and sell the eBook. The SEO guys copy from Aaron Wall and the Blogging eBooks copy from Darren Rowse and John Chow. It's actually sickening how many copycats are out there.

I'm not quite 100% sold on the Law of Attraction yet. From what I've read, it does appear to have a significant impact. But I doubt if you can rely on simply this law. You still have to put in the work. The successful people who use Law of Attraction succeeded because they worked harder than the next guy.

This article is truly troubling. Advertisers rely on Alexa to gauge how much they're willing to pay a site owner. This directly impacts the level of income a site makes. If what you say is true, that Alexa is ignoring the issue, then we should start a movement to discredit Alexa. This is Web 2.0 after all and a passionate movement like this can destroy Alexa within a couple of days.

What do you guys think?

Drudge is Walmart (retail/distributor).
News Sites are the Nestles and 3Ms (manufacturers).

So no, you can't compare Drudge to News Sites. Drudge is in a completely different business.

And news sites can't just suddenly go into the aggregator business. Wouldn't it be weird if Nestle suddenly opened a store and sold Post-It notes and other competitors' products? And manufacturers can't all open stand alone stores cuz no one has time to visit them all (same as news sites).

Stores in malls are the same way. The mall is the aggregator and the stores are the news sites. Separate businesses.

In essence, people spend more time in the mall than in any particular store.
