Hm. Well it's hard to tell based on those photos since no photo except for aerial ones can really show what progress has been made. Apparently, progress has been much faster with technology and they expect it to be complete much sooner (I forget how long). Our photos only show 4 of the towers when in reality, 8 of 12 are completed.

Oooh. For those that don't know, "Bringing Down the House" is the book based on the true story of how a group of MIT kids created an elaborate group scheme to card counting that let them win millions at the casino. I've only read the online excerpt. How is the rest of the book?

it might also be to do with the fact that you're in canada. i get OKSpain now as #1 tho and OK/C comes #2. oh well!

Given that the games are mostly at 7:00PM PST (or at best, 6:00PM when they're in Calgary) that equates to 3AM my time. No pub is open at that time and we don't have the channel that shows late night hockey (which only shows games every Wednesday as it is).

Last year, I was living out of a hotel and that actually did have the aforementioned channel. I watched one of our game 7's with net radio and TV (since the TV kept switching to other series as well).

mike, i've been thinking about this as a business for years but i just don't see it as a big thing. i guess if it expands into multiple branches (which it really needs to have any networking fun). imagine playing against a league in toronto ...

C: i make a point to check out arcades every time i'm back because the machines there are always a year or two ahead and it's interesting to see what fad they have. i recommend doing so. most arcades are quite big now and there are plenty that are under16 to now. i actually used to have a button-on badge so i could take it off and take off my tie and go in after school =p

Living in London definitely helps with the Euro destinations. It's so hard to see everything when you're so far away. That's a big reason why I'm out here for a year.

Kat pointed out rightly that it's VERY misleading. I have only been to Vancouver and reccently Toronto and all of Canada gets marked. Ditto with China (been to Shanghai and Hong Kong). I want to go to St. Petersburg just to mark Russia =D

Conversely, I've been to half a dozen European countries and it hardly shows. They need a Euro map like the States one.

Hockey is really big in these countries that don't play much football (soccer). When in Prague, I saw a Czech magazine that was completely focused on NHL hockey. From what I could tell (shockingly, I can't read Czech), there was an article that was doing a comparison of Bertuzzi vs Tkachuk, an profile of Joni Pitkanen and an article on whether the Canucks are Stanley Cup contenders this year!
