I made these again a couple of weeks ago and they came out better than the first time I tried them - presumably because I let them soak for a full week.
Thanks for the comments!

in Music Review: Rush - Snakes and Arrows on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
When I was notified of the above comment "from" John Rutsey, I thought it was cute... I mean, it's obviously not from Rutsey, but you know, whatever, right?
John Rutsey died on May 16th, 2008, just two days after that comment was posted.
[correction: the date of his passing was May 11th, 2008. The Rush.com website announced the news on the 18th, hence, my confusion.]
Without him, Rush would not have existed at all and the music landscape would be very, very different today.
Rest in peace, John Rutsey.

in Is FedEx Abnormally Slow? on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
On the one hand, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks this is screwy. On the other hand, it's a little dismaying.
I checked my status just now, and oh, this is rich. The estimated date of delivery has been removed, and the package was checked in at a sort station in Los Angeles(!) on the fourth. I live in New Mexico! Talk about inefficiency!

in Are You A Fake Dofollow Blogger? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Found this blog entry today, and it made me go back and check my plugin, to make sure it was working right. It wasn't! I don't get a ton of traffic yet, but I'm a firm believer in the anti-NoFollow movement. I installed the DoFollow plugin, and it cleared things right up. Thanks a lot for the nudge :)

in There Are No Poker Bots on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
You should probably read more than just the title of the article.
Read it again. Slowly. Now tell me who I said was supposedly running these bots.
This wasn't about the scumbag "players" running crap programs to steal money - it was about the losers who try to justify their bad play by saying the *sites themselves* are running the bots, which they're not.
Thanks for stopping by though.

in Dreamhost Goes Green on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
Great comment, Lupe, thanks. While I'm definitely happy with Dreamhost, I'm the first to admit that as long as there's competition, there will be better products popping up. Whenever my Dreamhost account comes up for renewal, I do a check to see what the competition is up to - and I'll be looking at AISO when that happens next. I can't say that 'green-ness' is the number one factor for me, but it's a factor.

in Link Love - Removing the No-Follow Tag on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
I'm putting the finishing touches on what will probably be the final design for The Big Book of Spam site, and decided to use Cutline for that. Worked out really, really well. It's a good theme, easy to customize. I tried using this one, but didn't like it for some reason... just didn't seem to fit the subject as well.

in Review: Apple Mighty Mouse (Bluetooth) on Daniel M. Clark Dot Com
Hi Adam,
It's funny, I use a Microsoft mouse, too (wired though) — mostly because I play games on this machine and I use it for that and forget to switch back to the Mighty Mouse. Almost feels like I'm cheating, using a MS mouse with an Apple computer, lol
I haven't seen any other white bluetooth mice (full sized) locally, I've discovered that if you shop online you can get a full sized bluetooth mouse more readily than if you shop locally. The problem with that is that you can't get a feel for the mouse before buying, which is pretty important, IMO.

Thanks, Randa! Although I "wasn't too impressed" ;) lol with all of Brian's themes, this one did stand out once I started playing with it. I like the native 3 column layout particularly since I had to use CSS to emulate it with Cutline.
