Seems to me the Blood claw thing is reference to their weapon skill. Ragnar seems to give fleet and outflank.

in July 5: A Farewell to my Armoire on Gary: Landlord of the Flies
Aaaarghh this must be downtown St. Charles. Please, if you respond to any comment, please let it be this one. It this the house that always has the sign outside that says "Shared Housing, $___ a month"? I drrive by that place every day, and always thought that sign was sketch, and it totally sounds like this place is just a house full of randoms living together because the owner is trying to make his mortgage.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I have a family member with roommate/landlord sagas in St.C, so I can sympathize.

in the ch!cktionary - Ladies who shop! We hit the sample sale at Yumi... on The Chicktionary
Three of those four dresses look lovely. I have to say that the purple number doesn't flatter that one young woman at all - it makes her look dumpy and prematurely old. Maybe you and your other friends could give her some fashion lessons? (The white and the patterned dresses are terrific!)

lena Maybe it doesn't photograph as well (you can't really see the neckline) but I actually thought Teresa's dress/belt combo was the most flattering of all our outfits that day. Mine, admittedly, did nothing for my chest!

in Can We Get This Guy On CNBC? on Zero Hedge
I agree Rage Aganist the Machine is very anti-racist. And I agree that there is such a thing as anti-white bias / prejudice... but KITN is about white privledge and using violence to enforce that privledge. Read the lyrics:

http://www.ratm.net/lyrics/kil.html

"Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites"

If you can't see the irony... well, I can't help.

OMG... the irony!! Violently ranting aganist reverse racism while listening to 'Killing in the Name'.

Wow.
ghostfaceinvestah I don't see the irony at all. KITN is anti-racism. To think racism is just a white-versus-black phenomena is a very narrow view, probably from someone who has never lived in a non-white culture.

in The PS3’s Full Potential: A Breakdown on The Power Review
Multi platform games that are created on the 360 as a lead platform will always fall short on the PS3 unless they have a separate entity create the PS3 version. Each system needs to be programmed for from the ground up. If you take a game (RE5) and build it from the ground up on the 360 then "tweak" the code to make it run on the PS3, you will always have a shortfall due to the totally different architectures. The PS3 requires the Dev to be creative with memory allocation, streaming, and multi-processor programming techniques. The 360 runs more like a PC so it is extremely simple for Devs that have experience on the PC to make a game.

I studied one semester of comp architecture(one of the most boring/interesting courses out there) and can tell you even when programming for different RAM architectures, this requires you to start from the ground up.

To put it simply multi-platform Devs have time/money constraints which make them choose one platform to Dev for then port to the other. If you want to truly make a AAA PS3 hit (fully utilizing the PS3), you need to make the game only for the PS3 only as the 360 neither has the storage capacity or the horsepower to get these games, like KZ2, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, etc. to run.

in the ch!cktionary - What Makes Us Happy? - The Atlantic (June 2009) on The Chicktionary
Not really. You could fear if it you wanted, but probably no more than one would fear something like bronchitis. The majority of people get it at one point or another in their lives (and like me, many people get it multiple times), but that doesn't mean that we should live in constant fear of it. Rather, deal with it when it comes.

in the ch!cktionary - What Makes Us Happy? - The Atlantic (June 2009) on The Chicktionary
Why should mental illness be viewed as so terrifying? I've undergone a bout of mental illness in the past, and yet consider myself both successful and well-adjusted by most standards. Why should we stigmatize mental illness as though it were much different from physiological illness? Indeed, I'm surprised that only 1/3 of the Harvard men ever had a bout of mental illness by age 50. Virtually everyone I know (mid-30s) has had at least one bout of clinical depression, anxiety, panic disorders, etc. Perhaps these Harvard men were indeed more privileged than the average, in spite of having undergone WWII.
