I'm a libertarian and I would rather see candidates like Bill Richardson. I think that Obama's charisma might win some republicans but the fact is that his domestic agenda will prevent any free market capitalist away from him.

גל, אכן המגמה היום היא להציע תכנים בחינם אבל אני לא בטוח שהגל הזה מוצדק כלכלית. יש נטיה לחברות לאמץ תהליכים מעבר ליעוד המקורי עד שהם הופכים לבעיה. לא חסרות דוגמאות (תסתכל על שוק המשכנתאות בארה"ב לדוגמא - למשהוא היה רעיון עסקי וכולם נהרו אחריו).
אני לא חושב שחינם זה רע, נהפוך הוא, אבל אני לא פוסל שירותים ותכנים בתשלום. אני גם לא חושב שאפשר ליצור הכללה שגורסת ששירותים בתשלום לא ישרדו. לעומת זאת התבססות על שירותים עקיפים (פרסומות, שיווק וכיו"ב) נושאת סיכונים בפני עצמה.

אני סקפטי מאוד ביחס לקונספציה הגורסת שהגולשים לא ישלמו, ובכלל שניתן לבסס מודל עיסקי על מקור הכנסה אחד (פרסומות) הידוע באי-יציבותו.
הרשת מלאה בשירותים הניתנים בתשלום - בייסקמפ פופולרי מאוד, גם מול חלופות חינמיות, וכמוהו salesforce.com. הוול סטריט ג'ורנל מצליח מאוד עם שילוב של כתבות בתשלום וידיעות בחינם וכמוהו מגזינים כמו האטלנטיק.
הטיימס העריכו שהם יכולים להרויח יותר מפתיחה של המגזין, ויכול להיות שהם צודקים (למרות שאני חושב שהסיכון גדול מדי). אבל מכאן לטעון שברשת יש רק ברירה עסקית אחת הדרך ארוכה.

I wouldn't want the government making a legal decision were the market should regulate itself. The fact is that Telcos has more ability, and they are really good, advocating and lobbing than any of us. Government regulation allow those companies to deal with limited, easy to buy, sources, instead of trying to satisfy us - the consumers.
Since the scarcity of "air wave" is mostly artificial, and due to the FCC policies, it seems that having the government reducing regulations will serve the consumers interests much more than another law. I'm sure that some companies, if entry to the market isn't blocked by the FCC, that will build their business model on better service.

אני חושב שהפיתוח האמיתי יהיה דווקא בהתאמה האישית לרמת העניין של הקורא ולא עוד דירוג מבוסס רייטינג. היכולת לברור מתוך מאות מקורות מידע את המידע שיעניין את הקורא בפרמטרים רבים כגון: תוכן המידע, כותב, רמת כתיבה וכיו"ב.

הרבה מאוד חברות עושות את הדרך ההפוכה - מהודו חזרה לארה"ב, אחרי שהם גילו ש-"זול" זה לעיתים יקר מאוד...

זלנגו הוא רעיון איום ונורא. השימוש בהירוגליפים מוביל לרידוד השפה ורידוד המחשבה ואין בינו ובין שפת סמלים מטמטית דבר.
לא כל דבר שאפשר לעשות ע"י פיתוח טכנולוגי בהכרח צריכים לעשות ולא כל פיתוח טכנולוגי הוא בהכרח טוב. זלנגו היא דוגמא לפיתוח טכנולוגי שאני מייחל לכשלונו.

אין לי לינק. המקור שלי אנושי, ממריל לינץ', ולפי מה שהוא טוען ג'ובס ובכירים מכהנים נקיים מחשד. החשדות הם כלפי בכירים שלא עובדים יותר באפל. יתר על כן, ג'ובס מעולם לא מימש את האופציות והחזיר אותם לחברה (רחמים עליו :) )

Edwards is as far from great as far can be. His "nanny state" message is the opposite of what we need.
Regardless of "electelability" Edwards should not get the support of those who looking to restore individual freedom.

I was mainly complaining about the hypocritical structure and behavior of the UN, but I agree that the US should choose better partners than it sometimes does.

The retailers keeps track on these cards, it is very important to them. Until the card is redeemed, or expired, it is part of the liability accounts. Once it expired it can be written as revenue.
Each card is, in accounting term and in actuality, kind of a loan from the gift card purchaser to the store - the make its profit from the improved cash flow, the interest and if the card expired from not needing to "pay" the loan back.
So in technical terms the government might be able to track and force such law. However it is still one stupid legislation :)

Thanks for the link Chris. I think that the main measure we should use is how observant of the constitution are the candidates are. The only problem with this measure is, I'm afraid, that we will have nobody to vote for :)
On serious note, the CI measure suggested in the post you provided is a very good measure to examine how much our representative are devoted to protect our liberties. It is crossing the parties lines, as both parties are devoted for their own political power and not for the protection of the constitution.

I'm unfamiliar with this article and be happy for a link. I wonder what is their definition for conservative. I suspect it is more the social conservative combine with left leaning economic which scares me twice :)

I wonder why YouTube ignoring this issue. They could solve, or at least minimize it easily.

Maybe it is too much to ask to know what the hell are you voting for? Maybe we should give this kind of waver to doctors, bankers etc? or is it only unfair to ask politicians to actualy work? :)
