I know! Ask them to ask my brother to marry them. He used to marry gay people in California so he has some free time at the moment.

He is a member of the ULC, so he can perform any ceremony. Bar Mizthvah's, issue Fatwas, summon zombies, perform exorcisms, summon spirits which he then has to exorcise, declare things kosher or hallal, and declare which kid is the reincarnation of Buddha. He doesn't do animal sacrifices unless the couple provides the animal.

Damn. So the LA Times writer Mr. Lopez wants me to feel sorry for the schmuck because she donated to a group that went against her customer's interests and now her customers are boycotting her?
Pul-lease! Her customers are supposed to respect her 'right' to be a bigot and still give her money? Why, Mr Lopez, so she can give more money to the enemy?
I have a dog in this fight. My brother is a minister and he had several gay marriages lined up prior to Prop Hate. That's a lot of money he (temporarily) lost out on. So, when this woman laments the loss of income as a result of the boycott, where are her tears for my brother, who has lost income as a result of HER actions?

I say boycott away, as long as people like her are still supporting bigotry with religion as an excuse. As long as my bro can't do his job then neither should she. As they say in the hood "you came 2 play da game, don't cry when others play by da same rulez".

Now let's say the roles were slightly reversed, and I was the owner of the restaurant and donated to No on 8. Let's say No on 8 won, and I was surrounded by Mormon church protesters who were former customers. Would I be upset? Probably, but I'd rather be protested for standing up for people's rights than be boycotted for taking away someone's rights.

What's with evangelical preachers and the Jews? Haven't they learned their lesson yet? "Open mouth, insert foot" is supposed to be a warning, not instructions.

Y'know, President Obama...this religious stuff isn't your thing. Every single Rev. you meet has all kinds of issues. Just give up, man. Just be an atheist or a rejectionist and you can avoid all this church drama. There might be other drama, but at least you won't have a pastor with loose lips sinking your ships.

It's sort of hard for me to feel sorry for banks and mortgage lenders that wrote mortgages and financial packages basically RIGGED TO FAIL!
Who the hell designs a balloon payment after 3 years? Do they really think someone can afford to pay 1500 when they start out paying 500?
Wall St is full of idiots and they should be "exploded" like you suggest.

There is only 1 real solution to this mess: render all mortgages, on time or not, null and void. turn over the property to those that are paying the bills. Or previously paying the bills. Time to hit reset. go back to start, ctrl-alt-delete and be done with it.

Just because Obama won doesn't mean racism is dead or defeated. It just means that a black person can win the White House just like a white person can. We still got a LOOONNNNGGG way to go. Fortunately, Obama as president means the government boot comes off the necks of minorities in America.

As far as Rick Warren goes, I agree with you and others in saying that this is a bad choice for Obama's inauguration. However, it is also helpful to "us" to have Rick Wacko out there in the spotlight. Think about it; Hagee and Parsley have been effectively smacked-down, Dobson and Donahue are checked, Falwell has been neutralized, and all that's left is Warren. By putting Warren out there in the spotlight, Obama is lining him up for us to bring him down. I guess Obama is still mad about Saddleback.

This is a video by a black kid from LA claiming to be the father of Bristol Palin's baby. He says he met Bristol while he was in Wasilla while his uncle was there for 3 months or so last summer.
If true, it raises some interesting points about honesty, the GOP's image, the Palin family, and abstinence-only education.
If false, it's a well-executed hoax that will certainly rattle some cages.

Recently, President Obama is considering choosing Julia Johnson or Midred Clyburn to be head of the FCC.
Both are experienced in media. JMrs. Johnson is a minority advocate.
Recently the FCC moved to open up HDTV broadcast spectrum so wireless Internet companies can use the spectrum for wireless internet. I think either candidate will move on that flank.

Obama said he would pick a cabinet of rivals. he did.
He said he would bring people in to change the Washington Climate- he has and apparently he will with these picks.
I don't see what the fuss is about.

It's funny how Black Conservatives use the past to defend the present GOP but they never say anything positive about the current GOP.
When active Klan members can gain leadership positions in the Michigan GOP (See Field Negro's post) and it hardly bats an eye in the senior leadership, when the McCain campaign had to stop allowing people to speak at town halls because they were "Arab-smearing" Obama and calling for his death; when John McCain had cake with BUSH with Katrina flooded New Orleans; when Colin Powell endorsed Obama and right-wingers said he did it because of race; when FOX News calls us "those people", then they can't complain when minorities vote Dem or 3rd party.

On a lighter but related note, the closest the GOP has to an Obama-esque candidate is Boddy Jindal of Louisiana. Problem is, conservatives don't realize that. A recent Gallup poll on conservatives' Favorable/Unfavorable/Don't Know on the big names in the movement had Sarah Palin on top and Jindal near the bottom with a high unfavorable rating.

I heard that Palin wasn't interested in the Senate seat.
Of course, I also remember Sen. Obama saying he wasn't planning on running for the White House just after winning that Senate seat. So take her word for what it's worth.

Lisa's not playin' games though. This is more than a warning shot; this is like Palin's navy is parked off the coast so she's firing the first salvo to keep the troops off the beach.

It's interesting to see how prices for oil and gas at the pump always drop whenever there's a national election coming up.
The same thing happened in 2006 as well.

Prices do tend to drop after the summer driving season concludes, but plummet?
