in Palin is becoming the next Rush Limbaugh on AMERICAblog
You could fax RNC headquarters and Rush Limbaugh every single DNC or DSCC strategy to corner the Republicans and win votes, and the GOPers wouldn't know square 1 what to do with it. It's like fighting a drunk guy who's so gone that you could tell him where you're going to punch him and he'll raise the wrong arm or leg to block.

What's that famous Sun Tzu line? "If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril."
Oh, and this one applies too "Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him."
And this one too: " If your opponent is of choleric temperment, seek to irritate him."

in Exploding idiots on AMERICAblog
"And presenting it as though "evil" mortgages did these people in, when their own evil avarice and stupidity got the better of them, is increasingly annoying and disingenuous."

It's sort of hard for me to feel sorry for banks and mortgage lenders that wrote mortgages and financial packages basically RIGGED TO FAIL!
Who the hell designs a balloon payment after 3 years? Do they really think someone can afford to pay 1500 when they start out paying 500?
Wall St is full of idiots and they should be "exploded" like you suggest.

There is only 1 real solution to this mess: render all mortgages, on time or not, null and void. turn over the property to those that are paying the bills. Or previously paying the bills. Time to hit reset. go back to start, ctrl-alt-delete and be done with it.

in Congressman: We’re Living in ‘Atlas Shrugged’ on The Washington Independent
He thinks the crooks and liars of industry are the "achievers" of America...
I say, go right ahead. Stick all those "achievers" on one of those moonscape mountains in West Virginia, the ones that the coal companies created, and fence them in like rabid animals. Let's see what those howler monkeys create without any of the "socialists" to help them.
Kenneth agentX - problems is that if most "achievers" stepped out of business you wouldn't have a job. Doesn't matter whether you are self-employed or not. "Achievers" are ahead of the game, and yes it is a game, business has always been the biggest game that was ever created, for there are "risks", "rewards" and winners and losers. But back to the "Achievers", I know of a few that are putting their money into huge "farms", to grow trees, stocking ponds of fish, putting in solar energy for the "farms" and all the write off's, including all the "stimulus" money they can get from the current administration. They do not have to move to an "island", for they are creating it themselves right here. So instead of having to pay more in increased taxes, they are cutting down on their normal "business", and creating a more peaceful society onto themselves.

I see Joe the Dumbass still suffers from foot-in-mouth disorder.
You know, he can cure that with a self-inflicted shotgun blast to the face.

Slightly off-topic, there were killings between congressmen in our history. There was one famous case in which a racist southern congressman killed a northern congressman who was writing an anti-slavery law or something like that.

Your side of the fence, Joe...

I was willing to give Pope Benedict the benefit of the doubt after his "ascension" on the Hilter Youth thing, but not anymore.

NOW he clearly shows what side of the fence he and the Vatican are on, were on, and will always be on.

President Obama, it might be time to consider revoking the Catholic Church's tax-exempt status.

in Rick Warren Doubles Down, Accuses Critics Of "Christophobia" on The Jed Report
"but also the triumph of this nation over the terrible scourge of racism."
Bzzt! Wrong!
Just because Obama won doesn't mean racism is dead or defeated. It just means that a black person can win the White House just like a white person can. We still got a LOOONNNNGGG way to go. Fortunately, Obama as president means the government boot comes off the necks of minorities in America.

As far as Rick Warren goes, I agree with you and others in saying that this is a bad choice for Obama's inauguration. However, it is also helpful to "us" to have Rick Wacko out there in the spotlight. Think about it; Hagee and Parsley have been effectively smacked-down, Dobson and Donahue are checked, Falwell has been neutralized, and all that's left is Warren. By putting Warren out there in the spotlight, Obama is lining him up for us to bring him down. I guess Obama is still mad about Saddleback.

in BREAKING: Rick Warren praised Israel-hating terror state Syria as a "moderate country" that treats its Jews great! on AMERICAblog
First!
Yup....Rick Warren really did it this time. I thought Obama was gonna throw him under the bus after the invocation. But now it looks like he's gonna hafta do it before January even gets here.
Yup...if there's one group you don't wanna tick off, it's the Jews. That bus is coming real quick Rev Warren.

What's with evangelical preachers and the Jews? Haven't they learned their lesson yet? "Open mouth, insert foot" is supposed to be a warning, not instructions.

Y'know, President Obama...this religious stuff isn't your thing. Every single Rev. you meet has all kinds of issues. Just give up, man. Just be an atheist or a rejectionist and you can avoid all this church drama. There might be other drama, but at least you won't have a pastor with loose lips sinking your ships.

John asked "When has Obama ever reached out to a racist?"
Let's see...Bill O'Reilly, Rupert Murdoch, Fox News reporters, the Clintons, Pennsylvania/West VA voters, Wall St, John McCain, President Bush, Rev. Wright...so on and so forth.

I wonder if Obama is setting up Warren for some kinda trap. This could be a chance to publicly rebuke Warren in front of a captive audience.

in Is your marriage worth more than a taco? on AMERICAblog
Damn. So the LA Times writer Mr. Lopez wants me to feel sorry for the schmuck because she donated to a group that went against her customer's interests and now her customers are boycotting her?
Pul-lease! Her customers are supposed to respect her 'right' to be a bigot and still give her money? Why, Mr Lopez, so she can give more money to the enemy?
I have a dog in this fight. My brother is a minister and he had several gay marriages lined up prior to Prop Hate. That's a lot of money he (temporarily) lost out on. So, when this woman laments the loss of income as a result of the boycott, where are her tears for my brother, who has lost income as a result of HER actions?

I say boycott away, as long as people like her are still supporting bigotry with religion as an excuse. As long as my bro can't do his job then neither should she. As they say in the hood "you came 2 play da game, don't cry when others play by da same rulez".

Now let's say the roles were slightly reversed, and I was the owner of the restaurant and donated to No on 8. Let's say No on 8 won, and I was surrounded by Mormon church protesters who were former customers. Would I be upset? Probably, but I'd rather be protested for standing up for people's rights than be boycotted for taking away someone's rights.

in Diversity in the Congressional Black Caucus? on Jack and Jill Politics
The CBC, aka the Corrupt Black Cronies, has a new leader in town, Barbara Lee.
She's quite less dirty than the others, like Jefferson and Wynn.
If Cao and Cohen want full membership, not just honorary membership, then they might have a sympathetic ear.

However, Cao is only gonna be there for 2 years. He's not gonna win reelection, unless he switches parties. He might as well just join the Asian caucus, if there is one.

Constructive_Feedback
However, Cao is only gonna be there for 2 years. He's not gonna win reelection, unless he switches parties.
Gee AgentX - I figured that you were going to say:

"Rep Cao and any other person who represents majority Black voting districts had better watch out for the Black voter that has been smitten by CHANGE! If they fail to deliver upon their promises of:

* Quality Public Schools
* Heightened Safety on our Streets
* Greater Local Economic Opportunities
* Healthy Lifestyles for the People

they will be summarily tossed out of office as our community purses its PERMANENT INTERESTS.

The fact that you believe that the only thing that Cao can do to remain in office is to CHANGE PARTIES speaks volumes regarding what the real problem WITHIN the Black community is.

Sounds like your son's wife needs to find a new minister.

I know! Ask them to ask my brother to marry them. He used to marry gay people in California so he has some free time at the moment.

He is a member of the ULC, so he can perform any ceremony. Bar Mizthvah's, issue Fatwas, summon zombies, perform exorcisms, summon spirits which he then has to exorcise, declare things kosher or hallal, and declare which kid is the reincarnation of Buddha. He doesn't do animal sacrifices unless the couple provides the animal.

See, that's the part of the story that I never really understood.

They're ANGELS. Why didn't they fly away, or at least just start obliterating things and people? You'd figure a celestial being would come to Earth with at least enough power to not get gang-raped by a desert village.
mauro7inf Well, uh, they did! They threw down a flash grenade and pulled Lot, his wife, and his two unmarried daughters (the married ones didn't believe the angels' warnings) out of town. The whole point of their going to Sodom anyway was to get Lot out before Yahweh destroyed the cities on the plain. The deal is that Lot didn't know that the men were angels; he was just treating them with hospitality. I'm thinking now that this might be a kind of archetypal hospitality story, much like some stories about Zeus rewarding good hosts and punishing bad ones, that made it into Israelite (and thus Judeo-Christian) mythology.

Also, Genesis messengers ("angels" is a more modern term) couldn't have possibly been that powerful, because Jacob wrestled with one and won. Though maybe that one was just impossibly weak.

OH, let's not forget about their responsibility for Fannie and Freddie failing. Thanks for that. The Republicans tried numerous times to get them to reform those two. What a great idea. Let's give houses to poor people that can't afford to pay the loans back! In the process we will sink the entire economy. YEAH!!! You're right, i'm going to vote Democrat next time. Prices do tend to drop after the summer driving season concludes, but plummet?
