Jesse, I think you are too dismissive of Capri's excellent observations. As a professional networker as well as a developer I have noticed that there is no corresponding drop off in networking activity.

I think the 'get rich quick' developers have moved on to greener pastures, where they can use their spammy techniques on audiences that have not become sick of crap applications. They filled the forum with 'I don't know how to program but I have a great idea to make loads of quick money'.

I think the forum has settled down to a more professional and realistic level where people are now in it for the longer term.

Nice figures and graphs though, maybe you're in the wrong trade;)

Warm regards, Mike

in One question on Flickr Video: Why? on Mathew's comments
Sharing is about community and as h8ter says why shouldn't Flickr leverage it's huge community of people who clearly have an eye for the visual.

in What I was using to hit Facebook — unreleased Plaxo Pulse on Scobleizer
Thanks Robert, your latest adventure alerted me to how vulnerable my email address was to being sucked into the evil spammy Plaxo.

I have now restricted access to my email address until the privacy filters down to the new friends lists functionality.

Keep up the good work but don't waste all your time on Facebook;)

You sign an agreement when you join Facebook and you more than most should know what that means.

Other people connect with you on the basis of that agreement, you violated their trust.

You don't own the data, it is a shared resource between your contacts (I wont call them friends), you and Facebook.

Take the rap and grovel or do the honest thing and move on.

The last thing we need is more spammy applications harvesting our data, why do you think 60 million people signed up to Facebook because they didn't want another MySpace or Plaxo.

Sorry and all that but grow up;)

in MySpace Joining OpenSocial? on AllFacebook
Facebook and Microsoft will be sniggering uncontrollably, all the competition tied up in a madcap venture to to unify the world of social networking with a bit JavaScript sticking plaster.
