There were treasure hunting pirates and even a shark in the "water". I can't take credit, though - I got the idea from www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com.

Re: Sharpen the Steel and Do It Do It

He is an A list husband and father - A+. Our children may not always understand the time their father spends hunched over the keyboard, but they know he loves reading and writing, and therefore at ages 6 and 2, they already do, too. And more importantly, they absolutely know he loves them. And he loves God. And, thank God, he loves me.

Re: New Translation Teaches Social Media Church

"These three remain - posting, comment, and link love. However, when all the electricity went out in our brand new house only the second day of living there, I was a bit fried myself. But God works all things to the good of those that love Him, right? And, in my house, that good is often the resulting poem.

Re: Honey, I Killed the Power

No, but it may have been a stunt to gather material for poetry - you never know.......

Re: Firefish: An Editor Evaluates the Whole Book Based on One Page

Thanks Craver - I was hoping someone would acknowledge it - he thinks birthdays are no big deal. That comes for our son in two years. I'm stocking up on Kleenex.

And, FYI to Marcus' readers - those 1000 words a day have been really good! I am his wife, but....they are.

Re: Easter Poem - Surprised by a Styrofoam Jesus

L.L. - whatever you are writing - it's ready! :)

Re: Retreat and Find the Glory of Creation

WP was born in 1836, not 1936. That hundred years makes a big difference. And countless cousins, etc. I am probably related to almost everyone in Victoria and Yoakum, TX.

The first weekend of May is the annual Decoration Day where you spend Saturday cleaning up the cemetery and putting out new silk flowers, and then Sunday after lots of gospel singing at the tiny Fordtran Church of Christ (the Carrolls are not Baptists like the Stevens and we do church with the Carrolls), there is a big picnic on the grounds of the cemetery. The Carrolls, Stevens, and Fudges (another intermarrying clan) are all represented.

More than you wanted to know, I'm sure.

Amy's last blog post..Moving to Wordpress

Re: Michael Hyatt, Stephen Mansfield, Tony Jones, and Me and You Talk Politics in Hell

Gerbil marriage?

L.L. - it's not hard at all ;).

Re: Pirate Ship Tree House Is Finally Done

Not really, L.L., I've been called worse.
