The Title is missleading, It does not say Marijuana causes Cancer. The Study shows that SMOKING Marijuana may increase the chance of Cancer.
There have been many studies done that prove the opposite:

I believe one of the biggest problems that people have with pro-legalization of Marijuana is that the pro-marijuana people always compare it to Alcohol and Tobacco as being a much safer drug. This is true.
To answer your questions:
Marijuana is not linked to Cancer - it also does not need to be smoked there are other methods to benefit from the canaboids.
There has also been studies in the Area's that have legalized Marijuana for Medical use that have shown changes in Marijuana use, but to most peoples surprise these studies show a decrease in recreational use while the rest of the country shows an increase over the past 10 years.
If Marijuana was a new plant that was just discovered scientists and doctors would promote it as a miracle drug with benefits ranging from stopping grown in tumors to strengthening the brain cells that produce Dopamine.
All I can say to you is that if you look into the research that has been allowed on Marijuana all the facts are showing that Marijuana taken the right way and in moderation can be beneficial. Like all drugs there will always be people that will abuse this drug. How many deaths have you seen from perscription medication? How many deaths have there been from alcohol? How many deaths have there been from aspirin? Now take the crime out of Marijuana and tell me how many deaths Marijuana has caused? How many lives are ruined by the legal ramifications of marijuana? The only way to get Marijuana in most states is to deal with a criminal, that is a risk that should be taken away.
