Really good points - reminds me of a line from "Postcards from the Edge" when Delores says, "How do you expect to get anywhere in this business if you don't show up?" (Hope I didn't misquote - it's been a few years!)

What comes to my mind while reading these entries is that people (when they are burnt out) can become callous and inconsiderate and rude - - and that some jobs are "thankless". For example - I've worked as an in-patient nurse for several years and the job can be very rewarding, but it can also be equally frustrating. I guess it stems from dealing w/people when they are in crisis, fearful, etc. For what it is worth, I get some of that from these entries, but anyway, customer service jobs can be tough jobs, no 2 ways around that. Also - I think some of what goes on is just theatrics. . . for example, when a sales rep yells at and berates a customer as they are leaving the store - WTH, how can that be anything but pure theatrics. . . we are only talking about cars here. . . it's not life and death. Anyway, I'm in the market for a certified used mercedes benz wagon, I live in Rhode Island, if anyone knows a good dealer to use. I'm willing to drive a couple of hours if needed.

I'm assuming that this was on the bottom of a contribution summary? They have to put that on there so that you can write off the full amount of your tithe/offerings on your taxes. Otherwise you have to subtract the value of any tangible goods or services from your tithe/offering thus decreasing the amount you can claim. :)

Call me crazy...but don't you have to have a computer to load music onto your iPod? Is Apple giving away free computers too?

I've used both Time Warner's cable internet and Cincy Bell's DSL. I like them both and can't really tell a difference between the two. Of course, I'm not using a bunch of bandwidth like a gamer might.


On a side note, when I got cable company employeed installers, they wouldn't change the older wiring I had in the house saying that I was responsible for that. The older wiring gave us some static on some of the tv channels and slower internet speeds. We actually purchased a signal booster from Radio Shack which improved the television clarity but was too powerful for the router...I routinely blew the router and had to get it replaced. When I recently switched back to the cable company again, the outside contractors they sent changed all my cables from the main lines at the pole to my house and all the lines in my house. Things are hunky dory now.

As far as I'm concerned, all the real television this year is on Monday or Thursday.


On Monday, I LOVE Chuck and Heroes and Mike loves Prison Break. We DVR NBC so that Mike can watch Prison Break on FOX and then start watching the NBC line-up after.



On Thursday, I DVR my Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy on ABC. We watch Survivor and Office. Sometimes I watch Grey's Anatomy first if Mike stays up because he can't stand Ugly Betty.



Wednesday is Private Practice. Friday is NUMB3RS.

Don't even waste your time discussing Bill O'Reilly. He is an ignorant self-promoter. He never says anything to enlighten me but only angers me that he never makes an effort to truly understand other races. I have NO hope for his pathetic behind! But, look who he works for - Fox News! Racist company 4 sure!

I feel for you. Mike LOVES Indian food but I can't stand it. He's got to get it in during lunch breaks when he can. Although, if he thought about it and could get Ben hooked the way Ben is hooked on Chinese, I'd have no out to not going...ummmm...let's keep this between us. :)

NSangoma, if you weren't so busy trying to be funny with your mammy speech, you would've seen and heard Mychal's father proudly showing his son's scholarship letters and begging for justice for his son.

I love this place, and it's hard to do it justice to people who haven't experienced it in person. You did a great job though! There are so many places in Barcelona where half of the charm is the person who's behind the bar. Looking forward to more write-ups on places like this.

I hear you on the drive-thrus. The area's only drive-thru Subway closed because they didn't want to replace the headset/speaker system that had broken. I wish Blockbuster had drive-thrus.


I also hear you on the "safe" wood chips. Ben fell off a swing on the wood chips and had one punch into his skin causing a puncture wound. I had to take him home to put neosporin and band-aid on it.



But, do a little more research on the playgrounds. There are playgrounds for safer for younger kids where the ladder rungs are closer together and no monkey bars, etc. Also, try fast food playgrounds. Chick-fil-a always has a great playground.

The video strategy to downgrade Obama's race is certainly working--everyone is talking about it. But in fact, this is to tell you that in some quarters he is written off has "frivolous"- candidacy not taken serious. Where is the video on other male candidates in the race, GOP and Democrats alike?
Don't be fooled, this was meant to be insulting.

Your grandparents spirit lives through you and your Mom.The wonderful thing is that you are celebrating them and keeping their memory alive. My grandparents have been deceased for over 20 years but I think of them often too. So I understand what it feels like to miss someone you love. Although my grandparents died when I was extremely young, I know they are protecting me and my family.
