Thanks for the update tonight - was watching the news instead <3

This is super-appreciated tonight, given that I *thought* I was taping it to watch after dinner, but the stupid DVDR threw an error. Thank you!

My success rate is helped greatly by the kind of resolutions I tend to make. Like seeing lots of musicals and stuff :D

I couldn't care less what she sings. I just want her to cut out the false humility act. It makes me want to stomp on her toes or sommat *g*

Yeah, I know you can tell the difference between the people and the institution, but unfortunately a lot of the people who go on about hating one religion or another can't :( I also think there needs to be a distinction between the actual religion and the various interpretations of one or another small aspect of the religion to suit a small group of people's completely unrelated goals. Perversion of religion is always the thing that causes trouble, whether that perversion leads to 9-11, Fred Phelps or killing yourself to join Hale Bop ;)

I can't vote, because I think they're equally bad. They both involve blind hatred of people for one aspect of who they are. Sure, you can try to separate things out and say "oh, I just hate the religion itself and not the people who ascribe to it" but it very rarely works out like that. It's still prejudice, it's still intolerance, and I'm frankly getting very sick of people judging me according to their misconceived notions about Christianity.

Also, I think it's important to remember that religion is almost as unavoidable as race in many parts of the world, and that much of the religious hatred we see these days is just another form of racism. Islam is the most obvious example of that.

I just think it's very dangerous to hate any group of people as one.

Yeah, she definitely got the worst of all the eliminations. I still don't like Damien's though, because getting one calorie choice wrong is fine for a weight penalty, but pretty poor reason for instant elimination :|

Yup, the US idea was much better. Even if they'd had a guy and a girl from each Aussie state, the pool would've been smaller, but it would've seemed a more sensible idea and outcome.

And meanwhile channel 10 is actually bringing BB back for another season. Le sigh.

You know, I think my biggest issue with all the 'twists' is that they brought Chris and Kimberlie in far too late. If you add together the *obvious* outcome of them going into the house after being outside (great initial weight loss) and the fact that they had initial immunity, there's not much chance at all to get rid of them before the final three. I seem to remember the US outsiders coming in a lot earlier in the game - although I could be remembering wrong. I just know that it was far easier for the US originals to boot them out.

Bringing someone back AGAIN is ridiculous unless that someone is Damien or P'eta simply because the way they were both eliminated is far worse than the annoyance of someone coming back again.

Gah. I wish they'd remember they're not Big Brother :/

I say that sort of thing a lot, but then people start going on about me wanting to curtail their 'right' to children. Uh... DUH :D

Missed the show tonight because I went out and it sounds like I missed a lot. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope Courtney stays. He's still a prat, but he's grown up a lot, whereas Munnalita? Needs to get out of her own childhood before having kids of her own *g*

I am SO pleased with the result. Now I just have to work out whether I want Munnalita or Courtney to leave more *g*

I wanted to BITE Courtney when he said that about Jules. Because, y'know, he needs it just as much as she does. Riiiight.
