Nice one. "Even Deryn Hinch is against it". LOL. Curious if this is getting much media attention in Australia?

in Memo to online companies: Please Stop Georedirecting on The Inquisitr
Totally agree with you on this. I am in Thailand now and it is frustrating seeing menus in Thai. Why can't there be an option in Google to only show stuff in English. Yahoo is also bad when signing up for accounts. Why can't they just add a link to the English version. Very frustrating.

in Bailouts on duncanriley.com
The car industry in Australia and probably the US is dying a slow death. Sure it provides some employment, but it is only going to be lost to China and India. Why bother fighting it? Imagine if the government put money into internet startups instead.

in ZDNet is morally bankrupt on The Inquisitr
I think Crikey.com.au suffered from this for a long time until they got established. I now see Crikey getting quoted often now on media websites. Not that you don't have the credibility, but it takes time to build. The growth of Inquistr since its launch, I think you are on your way there.

It's the correction we had to have. The economy was going out of control. There will be a few people who lose their jobs, but other than that will anyone feel a negative impact?

Pretty amazing the coverage it gets in Australia. Although with more people having business ties to the U.S., the result could have greater effect on their lives than a local election.

That's crazy. We know that executives are paid to much, but getting the government to regulate their pay?

Haven't seen the Aussie version, but I agree with you about the UK version of Top Gear. It's informative and entertaining at the same time.

in Olypmic Internet Access will be unrestricted on The Inquisitr
"China will still be able to block sites it deems 'subversive or against the national interest', according to a statement by IOC Press Commission chairman Kevan Gosper."
Problem is they use different technologies to block sites. I have a regular travel site for example that is on a shared server, but is blocked in China. Feedburner is ok, but when you click on a link in your RSS reader to a blog that uses Feedburner links, the page comes up as not found.
I am pretty sure you won't hear the end of this.

Chinese act in very mysterious ways. I wonder why they just didn't give it to them in the first place. Take away a journalists complete access to the internet and you know what their first story is going to be about. An article did point out though, what are they doing in the office surfing the internet anyway. Shouldn't they be out and about writing stories that haven't appeared on the internet.

in Digg Moving Rapidly Toward News: Sign of an Acquisition? on The Inquisitr
If a news company buys them there has to be the temptation for them to favor their own stories. Even if they didn't people would question every story that made the front page. I couldn't see the current community hanging around.

in The Quality Equation in Blogging 2.0 on The Inquisitr
I agree totally. I have found the original content stories I have written on my Olympic site get the most links/comments. Posts that are a rehash of other news don't get links, but they do bring in traffic from keyword searches.

That is really crazy. You should move to China! I negotiated the internet into my rent. If I paid myself it would have cost about $15 a month. Speed is not bad and still better than Telstra. My rent on a fairly nice 1 bedroom place in Beijing is only $500 a month.
