in Dreaming Of Androids Shirt Also Considered “Cool Thing Under $29.99″ on a forum with bread wings
You're very much welcome, it's praise well deserved :)

The t-shirt showed up at a peculiar time too - I was just reading a PKD novel and *gasp!* enjoying it!

(me and Mr. Dick don't have the most loving relationship, let's say, and please get your mind out of the gutter.)

alexis I'd never seen A Scanner Darkly, the movie, until just a month ago. Pretty trippy, but fairly true to the book. No shirt for that in the works ;)

I'm still hoping for the day we spot someone reading Dreaming of Electric Sheep while wearing the Androids shirt...

That sheep t-shirt is great :D I'm actually reading a PKD novel right now (A Scanner Darkly), but I am unfortunately discovering yet again that he doesn't fit my literary tastes at all...

karllong Right, A Scanner Darkly, I keep forgetting that was him as well. Have you read Man In The High Castle? that was a rather interesting alternate history that was set in America but if the Germans and Japanese had won WWII

in Justifying the Kindle on Gear Diary
The Kindle is out of my financial league right now (and I don't think they ship here anyway - Eastern Europe) but I am all for e-book readers. I have an old one from ebookwise.com and it's gold when I have to travel a lot. On my last bus tour (11 days) I read no less than 12 books, I can't imagine how I'd feel lugging them around! It's got a backlit screen and doesn't look paper-like at all, but after 2 pages I'm used to it and I can read with no eye strain (then again, I used to read on the computer a lot).

The one annoying thing about it is that you need to pass the books through a special software to convert them into a format it can read, and sometimes it goes terribly wrong... that and the USB driver just decided to stop working on my PC.

On the other hand, a lot of the appeal of the Kindle lies in the wireless bit... which is obviously not available in Europe, so if I ever decided to get a reader it would probably be the Sony. At least I wouldn't be paying for features I can't use... And now: waiting for price drops.
(in reader and books - seriously, $9.99 for a book?! They're not paying anything in the way of printing, it should be $5!)

This idea is pure evil. I don't love chocolate so much and it's still making me crave some.

Thanks for the mention :) The website is written from Pluto, it's a very quiet place nowadays and you wouldn't believe the speed of the internet connection. Who said that being a planet matters..

I never got all this voice command stuff. Talking to my gadgets would make me feel stupid, especially in public.

It's not that bad, really! Ok, it's not a "traditional" VDay present, but ugh, keep the teddy bears and hearts away from me. This at least shows he knows me and my terminal messiness and wants to help.

I want one.

I like it as it is... Yeah, it would be prettier if they were all the same size, but I hate image editing and wouldn't wish it upon anyone :P The more images the better, I don't care about the description, but if there's a cool design it will catch my eye and I'll check out the website for more.

This must be one of the most retarded products I've seen lately... I don't mind gift gags (though my friends don't seem to be so imaginative, anyway), but... oh please don't let them see this.

Or is it the "version 1" the comments on the current t-shirt mentions?

karllong it was the version 1, but I find it hard to believe that they would take it off the market as it was selling so well, the one they replaced it with is mediocre at best.

The t-shirt seems to be gone/changed... maybe the illustrator in Dubi's link was the original?

The gadget. Really, a date with a girl you "got" on a TV show? You can get laid without going through all that trouble and you'll have a new gadget.

(But I'm a girl, not sure if my opinion matters here or not :D)
