in The Social Revolution is Our Industrial Revolution on Brian Solis
Nicely couched Brian. I think the evolution is the fascinating component for this revolution. Already, I see the rumblings for increased granularity in social media that falls somewhere between pure personal networking and information sharing, democratic journalism ala the digg arena and the traditional mediascape. Of course, monetizing this new media will be the only thing traditional media will be interested in and indeed may prove their downfall.

in ecobutton Provides An Energy Saving Alternative To Shutting Down Your PC on OhGizmo!
I have been testing a Eco Button we got for free, like Jeff says it is a very convenient way to put your PC in to standby for when you walk away from it. However I almost fell off my chair when I found out this cheap piece of plastic with a geen LED will set you back £15, definately not worth that!!!! Even with the development of the software that tells you how much your saving, at the most it should only cost £5 max. Someone is making a lot of money of the whole greening thing.

in Gaining the whole world on Always Jason
Matthew's background and talents was a great value to Jesus. As a tax collector he was skilled at writing and keeping records.
This is about all I can offer off the top of my head about tax collectors of Jesus' day, other than that tax collectors gained their wealth by cheating the very people that they collected taxes from for the Romans.

in What kind of catholic am I? on Always Jason
I tool this test out of curiosity, and here are the results:
Quiz results:
What is your style of American Catholicism?
You scored as a Evangelical Catholic
You are a Protestant convert, or have been affected by evangelical Protestantism in some way. You love Scripture and incorporate into your daily life. You have a clear vision of Catholic morals and doctrines, and you make great effort to adhere to them. However, your interpretation of Scripture may not be in line with Catholic teaching, and you may not accept legitimate plurality in doctrinal expression. You might want to read the Fathers of the Church and Papal encyclicals to deepen your Catholicism.
Evangelical Catholic
100%
Neo-Conservative Catholic
69%
Radical Catholic
67%
Lukewarm Catholic
43%
Traditional Catholic
12%
New Catholic
7%
Liberal Catholic
0%
Now mind you I took this test with my Evangelical Christian beliefs (non-Roman Catholic)
God Bless.

in Making Your Company Run Like a Ducati on Andrew McAfee's Blog
Are you therefore arguing for monolithic, all-singing, all-dancing enterprise systems? Outsourcing ALL the complexity to the vendor? How far does that argument hold up - do you ride the Ducati, or does it ride you?
Or do we have to embrace some level of complexity to ensure SOME competitive differentiation, but be selective about it? After all - "if someone else can buy it too, it's not strategic" (apologies - can't remember who said that)

in There’s Only One Way to Settle This on Andrew McAfee's Blog
Sounds like fun - since I won't be there, I look forward to the video. I would be particularly interested in Tom's ideas on HOW we could overcome the hierarchy and silos ...

The button simply types 'ecobutton' into Start | Run and executes
To do that without the button create a batch file with Notepad that contains:
@ECHO OFF
cmd /c ecobutton
cls
EXIT
and save it as *****.bat where **** is whatever you want. Then create a desktop shortcut for this file.
Despite the claims using the button does not appear to use less power than the normal S3 Standby mode. As far as I can see the only thing the software does is record how long the computer is suspended and calculate how much electricity has been saved based on the information entered during setup.
So really the only thing the button has going for it is the visual reminder. Not sure that is worth what they are charging.
