Hmmm. I would love to get the 1GB version w/ Ubuntu, and not pay for XP.

J. DuVall Well its August 26, I needed a new light weight, inexpensive, 10inch or more screen size mini laptop ASAP way back in May. Wanted to buy the new Dell Mini, after so many months waiting had to get the ASUS Eee 1000H, its a beautiful, fairly full featured XP home, 80GB HD Atom processor powered laptop.

The point Dell should be getting from a lot of us out here, I would have bought the Dell if it had been available, and I am not alone. If this new Dell mini laptop ever does become available, no doubt I & many others will be unable to resist buying it, especially if they offered it for under $500.00.
But times are getting tight out here, the market share is going to the early birds, & ASUS has a good reputation for well built machines, they have a real winner with their new Eee 1000H.

in Sweden Kills Democracy on OpenMarket.org
That's certainly a bad bit of news for liberty and smaller govt. fans. ;-(

But I don't think it's necessarily anti-democracy, is it? Isn't democracy just majority-rule, or perhaps mob-rule? If the majority of people support this, I think would still be considered democratic.

in Marketing is a System Not an Event on Duct Tape Marketing
Great point. Similar and also often misunderstood is the fact that free markets are a process and not an event.

in Not a dime's worth of difference: Tom Rants on Tom Rants
I've been VERY disappointed with how the supposed conservatives have been caving in and spending money in the last few years. It's so far out of control I wonder if we can ever get back to where we should be. ;-(

How did we get to the point where letting people keep more of their own money is "contentious"? Sad. ;-(

I've been reading his last few columns as well. Great stuff. Thos that refuse to look at facts or history are out of their minds over his columns. ;-)

in Pro-life and Pro-Science Take Two: Tom Rants on Tom Rants
I think there are really two issues here. The first is, is it proper to do embryo stem cell research. The second is, is it proper for the federal govt. to spend taxpayer money on it.

Regadless of the former, I can see no justification for the latter in the Constitution.

You can add the creation, assembly, and regulation of fine mechanical watches to that list.
