in Spore™ Origins on Fresh Apps - iPhone Apps
I've bought it, and I'm not impressed.. I got through 17-18 levels the first day, and the only thing that ever really changed were the background colours and the size of you and those around you.. The gameplay didn't change a bit.. Haven't played it since..

gterez I guess that's why it's called "origins", you don't go past this stage!
brandontreb I was wondering this...I downloaded the demo, and it gave a "preview" of the full game. It was essentially a video of the game. In the video, they didn't show anything different than the amoeba stage...

in Google finally ready to take Jaiku seriously? on VentureBeat
Oh, I didn't mean "new" as in "they just whipped it up", but more like "I'm pretty sure they've changed it from when the downtime started".. Doesn't that seem odd? Well, maybe not..

Anyway - thanks for clearing up both whether the logo was new as in "brand spanking new" and why the downtime was there in the first place..

Let's hope it won't be long!

The downtime has come subsequent to an unscheduled downtime, which was apparently the consequence of power failure (if I'm not mistaken), so I wouldn't say the maintenance alone is an indicator of any change.. However I'm pretty sure the logo in the top left corner was the usual green and didn't have the 'beta' when the site was first brought down.. That's why I too was thinking whether something was going on.. I mean, why would they spend time changing the logo when they've obviously got other things to tend to..!?

in Opera: Mobile web usage continues to rise worldwide, and especially in Latin America on VentureBeat
Segeni Ng'Ethe gave an interview at reboot10 about (amongst other things) how important the mobile web is in his home country Kenya.. This due to the poor communication infrastructure in that part of the world.. Video should at some point be up on reboot.dk..

in How Many Gigs Do You Carry? on Marketing
I've always got my 8GB iPhone, I rarely go anywhere without my 120GB MacBook, I usually have my 2GB Canon Ixus, and every once in a while, I'll stick my 2GB USB-stick in the pocket or bring my 500GB LaCie.. Compared to what would fit on the tapes I used to have for my Commodore64, it's pretty f'ing amazing..! Still looking forward to SSD on the laptop, though.. And I won't be completely satisfied before it's at least at around the 120Gigs I've got now..

EricFriedman So basically you are well over 100 and quite soon into the 200gb range. I may have underestimated how much people carry with them with this post...oh well we will see.
