in Rep. Aaron Schock added to the schedule on College Republican National Committee
Thank you for this; when I was at a fundraiser for Aaron (and for another area U.S. Representative, John Shimkus) recently, I mentioned the CRNC Convention to him - Being the youngest member of Congress, Aaron was asked to speak at CPAC 2009, and at the YAF Midwest Conference. I am glad that he has been added to the schedule for the Biennial Convention as well.
Seeing and hearing from my Congressman (who is 27 years old) has been motivational, for the people of our generation; I hope that this inspires more CRs to not only help with candidate campaigns (which is of course very important) but to run for office themselves.

in Dem Dingell “Cap & Trade = Tax” on Roaring Republican
One good thing about Congressman Dingy is that he is pro-2nd Amendment, and is willing to advocate for that. He also supports some abortion restrictions (which was significant, when another Democrat, backed by Emily's List, was put against him... I think that happened, in the redistricting situation, near the start of this decade).

in Network of enlightened Women - Fighting Against Crazed Leftist Womyn on College Republican National Committee
March is Women's History Month, which is an ideal time for CR chapters to host on campus female conservative/GOP speakers; that's what we did, a couple years back, with the Hon. Christine Radogno... And what the UIS CRs has been meaning to do, for awhile, with former Miss America Erika Harold!
The CBL Policy Institute (a great organization!!) has a speakers' program, and those speakers can of course also be booked through LI or YAF.

in New User Tools on CRNC.org on College Republican National Committee
Thank you for the hard work that you guys have put in, to update and enhance the CRNC website, and web system, for this new year.
I think that 2009 is going to be a year of major transformation and renewal and progress, for many of us. Involved in this will be promotion, advancement, and the Lord's favor (if we do our part).
Please keep up the great work!!

The site featured in this blog entry doesn't do that anymore (if it ever once did). Now, that site is a porno site, with no positive functionality... so you might want to remove the link, from this blog entry.

in Not Impressed By Barack Obama on Broadband Politics
Hello... I remember commenting at this weblog before (or at least being at it, from years ago - back when it must have been on a different platform, as WordPress very-much did not exist).
I don't know if trackbacking pinging works here, so I'll go with the "poor man's trackback" [while sitting here in St. Paul at Concordia University, unable to get to the Excel center :-( ].

in Utter Nonsense on Captain's Quarters Comments
Well, when you are viewed as the "front-runner," and you are upset by another candidate in an early contest, you have to recover quickly... If not, you lose major momentum and support, and that makes it more likely that you will have to drop out.
This is what almost happened to Bob Dole, in 1996, on the Republican side. [The GOP Establishment weighed in very heavily, following Iowa and New Hampshire, to push him into the nomination.]
Howard Dean was sunk, in a similar way, after he stumbled in the early contests, during the last Democrat presidential nomination race.
Hopefully, this will happen to Hillary as well.

in Live Coverage Of The Iowa Caucuses on Captain's Quarters Comments
I remembering reading about how Pat Buchanan and Lamar Alexander shocked the GOP Establishment by how well they did in the Iowa Caucus, in 1996. With three percentage points more, Pat would have won it... According to George Will, this would likely have caused Bob Dole to drop out of the presidential race. Alan Keyes took 8 percent in that contest, which could have impacted things.
With Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) out, it would be great if Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) took first or second place in today's key vote.
On the Democrat side, I hope that Hillary falls... A third-place finish would be great.

in Republican Nutball John Cox Compares Illegal Immigration To 9/11–BTW, He Is Running For President on Brave New Films
It's sad: After 9/11, both conservative and liberals (as well as libertarians) recognized the major problem of illegal immigration, and all urged that strong actions be taken, to stop this problem.
It has been less than six years since that horrible day... How quickly we forget.

Is this something that I need to download, or purchase... or is it something that we just use on the web? It would be neat to have image and video manipulation programs that were easy and quick to use. Thanks for the info about this.

in Words have Meaning on It looks Obvious
The thing is though, to be fair to the AP, the photo is from 1998 - and that is stated in the caption. The caption should have been reworded, but keep in mind that if Michelle Malkin or others had read that caption in April 1998, then no one would have bothered pointing out this flaw. The caption was probably trying to effect a past-time contextual reference, which of course appears naively anachronistic in the present.
A fourth place would be even better.
