You have inspired me to modify the banner on my own page to make it more obvious to users what I am about. Can you be sued or taken to court for material you have posted. I for one am not a legal expert but would think that I would rather avoid any legal issues and be on the conservative side when it comes to that possibility. Do you know if many bloggers get sued? And if so what is the outcome? Just curious...

Re: Political Fear and Loathing on Wall Street

The way it is all playing out is almost ready for hollywood! The angry mob demanding justice, the authorities looking for the robbers, and the white knight, a.k.a Buffet, swooping in to save the day! Interesting times to be sure....

Re: How to Sell Real Estate Like Burgers: Buy One House, Get an Apartment for Free

I heard of a California builder offering the same type of deal recently. Desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose. And they wonder why real estate is now being bought and sold like a commodity.

Re: Personal Branding and the Job Market

Great post! I think with the ease at which everyone can get a website up and running and greater competition for market share, branding will continue to play a bigger role. Being able to stand out from the crowd to some segment of the market will be the key to success.

Re: 2008/12/15/mahalo-answers/

i think people will be on board until they realize they have to pay for an answer, then they will go to google for most answers. Perhaps there will be a small fraction of users willing to pay if it is extremely valuable information from a true expert on a subject. Perhaps medical or career advice from someone who has the right credentials. The only thing that crosses my mind is if those types of experts will be willing to give that kind of advice for fear of liability.

Re: Mortgage Market Update

It certainly does seem that Paulson cannot control the market as directly as he would hope or suggests. However as you astutely said he is playing with house money, he will find a way to get his magical 4.5%. In the end that rate will be meaningless unless consumers learn how to save so they can come up with the larger down payments so many banks want now.

Re: Why Paid Blog Comments are a Waste of Your Money (and my time)

It sounds as if all this is a sign of the times and is going to perhaps get worse as markets continue to sour. Agents that don't do their homework and are all too willing to part way with their hard earned money in an attempt to gain market share is a sad reality. From what I understand many search engines would view that type of blitz link building campaign as unnatural link building( if they are even successful at getting the link). Any sudden increase in the number of links pointing to a site could backfire and cause the site to be penalized...

Re: Real Estate Listing Photos. Agents listings a property without pictures are doing their clients a disservice. The property will never generate any interest so why even bother. Hopefully many of those photoless properties are listed and the pictures really are coming shortly. But once again why the agents go to the trouble of getting pictures later and then having to go and modify the listings to add the pictures doesn't make sense either. Its less work and makes sense to do it right from the get go.

Re: Gilbert Woman “Donates” Home to Charity - Kinda sorta

I'm with you Jay, this doesn't quite seem on the level. If it were clearly and openly stated where the proceeds were going then it would be a case of raffle buyer be warned. However that does not seem to be the case. If I bought a ticket and later found out that the bulk of the raffle sales went to payoff a home loan and debt of Ms. Gray I wouldn't be happy. It seems like misrepresentation and I am surprised that the Murray Grey Foundation allowed their name to be used in such a way.

Re: Read, or get Read to

I tried it out and it works great!
