Luetkohan sä näitä? No, kai tää tulee sähköpostiin. Sun sivuille ei voinu kommentoida rekisteröitymättä.
Mutta! Vaadin kuvia! Eikä sähköpostikaan haittais, mut ymmärrän kiireet.

Terkkuja Tazille.

BTW, has anyone seen Istvan around? He sort of disappeared from blog, and hasn't replied to emails lately. I know he was taking some classes and was busy, but I haven't seen him on blog in ages (well, not since I came back from vacation, anyway).

OK, I will try again. Maybe trillian is messing with me, and then I will look into switching as well.

Is that why you don't reply to icq via trillian anymore? :P

The new comment text window stretches out into infinity on the right when I start typing in it (IE 5.5). When I maximize and then minimize the window it becomes normal for a while, then when I start typing it loses the scroll bar on the right again and does that weird cutting-off thing again.

Just noticed it, if you want this on the bug boards, let me know.

Besides, you are coming here sooner than I'll get a chance to come visit again, so quit whining!

(And at least you can drink the way they do... ask Ziv how much fun it is dragging me up the spirally curling staircase to the bathroom--all the while trying not to hit the ceiling with his head...) :P

*chomp!*

Coming home soon--miss both you and fuzzball. Going to bring more pictures and some small edibles/drinkables to make your life in US a bit less miserable for a while. :)

Yei, grats! :)

Always nice when something you do for fun is recognized by the "big world," no matter in how small a way. :D

*slowly backs out of something that sounds fascinating but utterly out of my area of expertise*

Ugh, that Pascal course I took years ago is getting to be not enough to understand general computer programmer chat. I guess I need to update my programming knowledge for the purpose of general education. :P

ROFL!!!

Quote off somewhere on the net (can't give proper credit as I don't remember who this belongs to):

Pre-recorded telemarketing is very common here in USA (and VERY annoying). There are two ways to get through it--one is a phone service offered by most telecoms--"Privacy Manager" that does not let any unwanted calls through, and another--hanging up on the goddamned thing.

I put myself on the "No-Call" list and that reduced the volume of the annoying telemarketers considerably. It is also nice to scare the real ones with the words "you know I can sue your employer for you calling this number off a no-call list, don't you?".

But yea, the recorded ones are the pits--all you can do is hang up, since you can't satisfy your annoyance by yelling at them before doing so.

I visit the same fruit merchant stand (a group of people run it) at the farmers' market roughly every other Saturday. By now they know me and my brother and always greet us and tell us what's good among the piles of stuff they have, and what's so-so, and what's new and what they will have the coming weeks.

And they are onto our passion for pears and plums and apricots! :P

Nice feeling, definitely--for me, especially since it's the city market and there are a LOT of people there on late Saturday mornings, but they remember us. Of course, we DO come back to them every time we are there. :)

Fanboy, very good definition, and by that definition, very very few people out there are truly patriotic. (Which may just be a fact of life.) A lot of people who call themselves patriots, really just confuse what you defined and waving the flag around in pride from the safety of their front porch (the latter is not really patriotism by any definition that I know).

I am going to be honest here, and this may sound rather bad, but at least I am honest with myself.

By the virtue of being a selfish person, I am not at all patriotic towards US (even though I live here), and somewhat so towards Israel (I would go back if I was drafted and needed in the armed forces to defend the country, that's about the extent of it).

Laying my life on the line for other people is just not something that I honestly, deep down, believe in. I am pretty sure I would do it to prevent something of global proportions (nuclear war, things of this sort), or even the destruction of Israel as a country. However, I don't believe in getting killed to save someone unless that someone matters to me personally. Why? There is a simple reason: who said the life of another person is more valuable than mine, unless I believe so (and I do in the instance of several exceptions to the rule)?

Patriotism would have to be readiness to lay one's life on the line for any of you own countrymen, according to Fanboy's very clear and intelligent definition. The question I want to ask them--are those people worth it? For me, the country as a whole--yes. The world as a whole--definitely yes. Some of its people--I don't think so.

I like the color-coded "e" button--please make it NOT red though? When I scroll down fast, it catches my eye like a new comment... Pleeese? Make it green or something?

I like the other new stuff and have found no bugs so far. :)
