in Taking Risks When It Comes To Love; Is It Always Worth It? on Carrie and Danielle
Life is totally about taking risks and learning lessons. If we play it safe we won't learn a darn thing about ourselves...and leads to a Biff Stiff life....

in How to Heal Your Bruised Ego…Without Going Overboard on Carrie and Danielle
I kinda see it like this.

If someone says something off putting. The comment might sting a bit; but if we take it to heart it means that we quietly already believe that negative thing being said about ourselves anyway. The pain is caused by that person pressing our buttons. I've been there...many times.

Most negative comments are about the ego in the other person trying to knock you down a peg or two. Sometimes malicious and sometimes the ego just wants to compete....

If we study the drive of the ego (Hello! Eckhardt Tolle)...negative comments will roll like heads in Marie Antoinette! And brushed like dirt off your shoulders!

Yes..teens can be testy as you know what...I used to teach 8th and 9th grade and I thought they were all bastards...LOL...something about that age just makes turns all the good in your heart into a raging maniac.

And I hear that about coming into your own. Every year gets better and life Gets sweeter if we choose to honor life as the gift that it is.

Happy Holidays and Great Blog!

I love your site.

And to leave a short comment I think that its up to the couple to decide what's best for them. Many of these comments are on a middle class mentality level...I'm not trying to diss or dismiss but there are women who don't even work and don't have children...they're philanthropist's or fundraisers...

Some men like being breadwinners and some women like being at home. If the man doesn't have a problem with it then why should we...I think the most important thing is that the woman and man are educated...that way they'll be able to fend for themselves if they happen to find themselves on their own.

I'm saddened by the disproportionate statistics on HIV rates with Black Women. We sisters need to love, honor and cherish ourselves more...

The look on that man's face in the above pic say its all. It's that look of pride and inspiration that Obama seems to put on everyone's face.

Nice Ad! Whenever I see Obama I think nothing but "God's work"...how else can you explain this man rising up out of the dust?

in What’s your favourite thing to watch on TV? on Carrie and Danielle
HGTV is my crack.

What Not to Wear.
Queer Eye.

Anything that includes a makeover.

jennifersage What is it with the makeovers. They are so compelling. I have not seen the USA version of what not to wear but saw a book by Clinton ans Stacey (did I get those names right). They appealled to me straight away. I do not like the Brit version of what not to wear at all. Those to women are such vipers.
some friends of mine told me to watch Gok someone (he is Brit )and he seemed quicky and very gentle with the women. I think I saw a couple and then it finshed

I love when a man can express his dichotomy well.

Strength/Wisdom, Humility/Confidence, Nurturer/Provider, Lover/Protector, Ambition/ Disciplined

Learning how to trust your intuition is the key to pretty much everything. Intuition is a gift from the Universe cause it will always guide us towards the lessons we need to learn.

in What is something completely luxurious that you dream of owning? on Carrie and Danielle
I'm there with Carrie. Owning and managing trivial things is not my idea of fun. I'll take a full body massage, trips to South Africa, Morocco, and Paris...and plenty of yoga retreats for me and the hubby.

I would like to own a painting by Kehinde Wiley or a photograph by Gordon Parks.

Nothing could be truer! I always played it safe. Dotting my i's and crossing my t's; doing my best to be perfection. Of course I realize now that that's a nuerosis and that life was not meant to be life that way. Life is classroom. Our job is to develop the necessary tool to handle the pitfalls.
