I meant deleting the partition while in windows. I just saw that its 8.04 not 6.04 so I guess i just need to delete the partition and then install it. Will the boot manager entries (boot menu - Grub loader) be taken care of?

I have downloaded it. Earlier setup of Ubuntu which I never used much is 6.04ver which I have in dual boot with Win XP. How can I switch to Ubuntu 9 without messing up with the boot manager. I am totally a noob to Linux. Any pointers?

Hey man!
I designed my own bbPress theme and it works fine but when I use it on a bbPress installation v0.9.0.4 integrated with WP 2.7.1 then I get a fatal error that a call to undefined function bb_uri() was made.
I am clueless at the moment and will appreciate if you can help me out.
BTW I have already asked at the bbPress forums but havn't got any response yet.

I dont think so. They fluctuate according to the people who checked their feeds on that day. In my opinion, this was because of the Diwali(in India). Many people must have leave the PC to go out for shopping. :D

I live in a govt campus where my father works and here, there is only 1 service provider who charges 800bucks for a capped 64Kbps connection and that also with the 150MB day limit.

The only thing I need to rename is image files and that I can do in windows XP itself. Just select them all and hit F2 or rename. Give a name and its done. But yes for more customized names, you will need applications like mentioned in the post. Just my opinion :D

My schedule is actually kind of weird.
I read feeds in lectures, even write posts in lectures.
I write down any idea that can be converted into a post and believe me I have more ideas than the posts I currently I have on my blog.
Then I download stuff from our net lab, test softwares in my room and then write about it.

In nutshell, after college hrs, I am dedicated to blogging and sometimes in college hrs too. :D

Yes! I agree with your point here. The quality has gone done and Google is certainly not allowed to commit mistakes. The feed count shows incorrect count frequently after Google has acquired Feedburner. I hope this issue gets fixed soon and Google stands for what it is known for.

Also it shows up when you are viewing in explorer in detail view and it creates a space so it should be rename with z or something but that will defeat the purpose of hiding it. Anyway nice trick but not of much use.

I am in a similar situation like yours. You can call it worse. In my hostel, I blog on a friend's computer and I use cell phone to connect to the net. That means I even pay for that damn connection from my pocket. But atleast we engineers are capable of working in drastic conditions. Take other bloggers and give them a capped crawling internet connection. I bet they will quit blogging. lol

This trick also applies on files. Just make sure you hide your file in an unknown folder and that too on the drive on which Windows is installed. Let me explain. Lets assume you have windows installed in drive C so I can type attrib D:*.* -h -s -r /s and attributes(system, hidden, read only) of all files on Drive D will be removed.

This way your hidden file will be revealed. You wouldn't want to execute that command on Drive C. Now would you? ;)

I would like to contribute my part.

#1 That line is not removed by removing the line from the header.php (it has to be removed if its there). Its removed by adding the following line to your functions.php file of your theme
remove_action(’wp_head’, ‘wp_generator’);

#2 Instead of manually putting a blank index file in directories, you can also use the .htaccess file for blocking directory browsing

#3 & #4 are yes very good steps

#5 File permissions are important but I would like to know more on this as this is something that I don't know much about.

I wanted to have categories in the sense which visitors can used to browse the site easily. So I wanted to categorize all of my previous posts. Is there any problem in assigning a single post to multiple categories? I mean what it can be? We have already plugins to tell Bots not to index those pages, so there will be no Duplicate Content issues and for readers, I think it is pretty much convenient to have a single post in multiple categories if it fall in. Like I have two categories Gadgets / Hardware launches and How to / Tutorial then if I am writing about a fix of that gadget or hardware, then it should come in both the categories.
