For shame.

As far as comic book characters though, you can't go wrong with some good ol' fashioned X-Men (that cartoon was also a winner, but never had a "cowabunga")!

Re: Fingertips: Contest - Win Two Osamu Tezuka "Black Jack" Books

Dr. Strangelove!

Re: 5 Reasons it Sucks to be a Web Developer

Nice rant. Even as someone not in your industry I can definitely understand your frustrations...

Yet I can't shrug the feeling that your current clients probably wouldn't be too thrilled with reading #4. By all means continue the rant for 5 more (I'm enjoying!) but tread lightly when it comes to the people who pay you, I say.

Re: 5 Reasons it Sucks to be a Web Developer

Thanks for the response, Andy.

I wasn't saying you shouldn't say those things, nor that you aren't correct and qualified to do so, only that you should tread lightly.

For potential clients, laying down the law of good client behavior is fine. If I was a current client, however, I might feel a bit insulted (whether I was an offender or not).

Just food for thought - not trying to criticize. I know you what you do and deal with isn't easy.

Re: Protected: Easter Egg!!!

Great idea for a contest, and really like the re-design. For too long marketers have been using metrics and ROI numbers to justify their actions or, more often, cover their asses. Discount codes to regulate sales are not effective, especially with most people now savvy enough to search for them online.

It's a different world, and one that can't be conquered without taking some risks along the way. The marketers that don't stand behind their decisions, even in the absence of metrics, while wind up being left behind...

Re: Considered it! - A Rant on Trolls.

Amen! The amount of effort people put into being rude is honestly astounding. There's basically no limit to the places to go on the internet - don't like something? Keep stumbling. Don't waste my time and yours.

Sigh. Oh well. Some people just aren't happy unless they are miserable.

Re: Do we rely to much on the Internet?

Well as someone who makes her living off of the internet, I must say that I depend on it a great deal!

That being said, I try to keep a healthy balance of online and offline ventures/communication - to make sure I don't become a complete hermit! In regard to my family, for example, I have introduced them to the world of Flickr for photo sharing, but would never try to explain why they should microblog. Instead, I pick up the phone and call grandma the good ol' fashioned way to get updates.

In fact, I find the whole Twitter thing grossly overrated, though I understand many find it addictive. But is it really for other people...or for ourselves?

Re: Discovery Channel Responds

Congrats! Regarding the false information statistic, however, the question is does protecting themselves mean constructing an alter ago online, or just switching around the numbers of their birth date?

Nice research find though - thanks for sharing!

Re: http://www.techipedia.com/2008/blogger-outreach-sears-style/

My mom and godmother more than deserve the "Pamper Herself Spa Relaxation Package" for all of the work they do for our family and those beyond (both involved in charity work).

Either way, wonderful contest, lovely idea, and hope you are yours have an amazing holiday.
