Your post makes me yearn for the days of old media and reporters with editors checking facts and sources and even just what they're saying. Your posts doesn't explain at all what the differences are between the apps. This sentence is incoherent and I'm guessing you just chopped up a press release.

How 'bout the fact that anything CES did was overshadowed by Macworld and this announcement? Something was announced in Vegas and then something else, and oh right smart phones are smart.

No trackbacks are offered; I often refer to them as crapbacks. How that qualifies it as a psuedo-blog, not sure, unless that's a new more snobbier definition.

You got it. The Google error was we had module instead of feed in the string.

I'm looking at the Add to Google blank box issue now - not sure why that's doing it.

There's no post conspiracy. It was published, then unpublished during the rollout to live, and now it's back.

in What is the Veer brand? on Urbnlivn
Matt,
Agreed. During our session a women was very disappointed to learn that she couldn't do her own counter tops. I think she expected that she could from the website as well. My guess is that it's just another condo when it gets to John L. Scott's pitch (why else would they push Countrywide so hard?) You can also see the dilution on the various websites. Clicking around all the flash brochure site can get very confusing and not that informative, which is why blogs like yours are so helpful. My biggest suggestion would be to host a blog themselves about the project and create a community around it; there's nothing more useless than a brochure site that says, "virtual tours" coming soon.

in I finally attended the Veer Lofts information session on Urbnlivn
Having just attended a veer session, I took my a while to process it all and I finally realized what I saw was a brand falling apart. Veer isn't quite what they're saying it is. It'll still be great, but they seem to either be making it up as they go along, are confused themselves by the concept, or left hanging without enough details. So that whole paint it they way you want thing they're pitching? Uhm, not so much. "Revel in what you create" from the 3 choices they give you.

Right. We're getting into a circular argument here. The 101 seminar covers all the why and we learned from the 101 that most attendees got all that and wanted the how, which is what we tried to do with the essentials. I think we agree more than disagree. You're points are right on and what I'm saying is yes, that's correct, but that wasn't the focus of this seminar. I don't think my sessions focused solely on the tools, we did get into tons of questions, which I felt was good considering the dazed looks I saw. Nor did Anil's When I say, "not much to get" what I mean is, "the why is easy." "how much harder" and that's what we're trying to teach and are hearing from our clients and customers.

There's not that much to get and the business that are confused are usually the marketing staff that thinks it's just another channel. There's Scoble's book for the why and lots of pundits. The take-away from the seminar was Anil's assertion that they're no rules, blog how best fits your business, despite what all the pundits say. Our book is focused soley on the how, for that same reason as are the seminars. My other comment got lost, but I disagreed with you on ethics. First, we expect that a business knows how to be ethical and it's not our place to tell them differently and we're not teaching journalism. I am glad you came and this is a good discussion. If we marketed it wrong and set the wrong expectations, we need to know that!

Agreed on the Wifi. Keystone had free Wifi everywhere, Copper is great, a fantastic experience and they could make it that much better with Wifi.

Devin,
I expect we'll be back. We did have a meetup earlier in the week and it was a good time. Thanks for coming Scoble. It was very beneficial to hear first-hand about how to respond to the comments like the ones in this thread.
Christoper,
It's not a junket, it's a fam and we were there to evangelize blogging, which is exactly what we did. Did anyone of us say that wasn't marketing as well? Check out our evangelism blog, where post more about Bloggy Mountain High. It's transparent and obvious what we were doing.

in Bloggers “bought off” by Fon? Not me… on Scobleizer
"I'm not a journalist, nor do I play on one TV." Nearly a year ago, I said that with Robert on a panel at SXSW when paid bloggers came up. Same goes now. When we arrive in Colorado for Bloggy Mountain High and are evangelism event, we're there to evangelize and bloggers are like friends with benefits. Right, so, we're going to go have a good time, blog about it, and it's obvious what we're doing. No one is getting paid to blog while there.

Meetups are great for networking and the blogger meetup has huge turnout. Also, note, that BBS 05 is offering blogger discounts and a click program.
