Thanks for the good post about ETFs. This investing opportunity is definitely gaining ground as a preferred alternative and a hedge against a generally sour market. I know I am considering an industrial ETF of some sort, keep up the stellar postings :)

Not playing the market is a mistake. Look at what it has done in the past week! Using iron condors is a good argument, and I think that this post is very solid all around. I am much more of a fundamental guy, but it never hurts to re-solidify my original thinking with some technical voodoo working in my favor :)

You should go more into detail about the potential behind investing your debt money. Other than the stock market, there are great places to invest with confidence like Treasury Bonds (as you have mentioned). With college prices skyrocketing, it is important to have a grip on your finances and not be in a hole as soon as you graduate.

I'm sitting here right now looking at positive territory in the Dow trading action off of starting nearly 200 points negative. Definitely a good sign here. I don't know if it was the Fed cuts that made this possible, but definitely they helped ease things a bit ;)

Don't even try technicals on this stock. Its a complete waste of time. We held GE as a 12% of our Industrials sector portfolio in the Nittany Lion Fund... and it definitely stinks to see this happen (despite the fact it gave us a boost over the benchmark).

My point: they went ahead and said they won't be growing this year. Don't trust technical analysis voodoo on this one. No growth = no stock appreciation

As long as core PPI come in relatively in line, I don't see too much of a problem with a widespread recession in the United States. Definitely not good news, but yeah, I was surprised that the reaction was so positive.

Great point. I wouldn't think of running a youtube video geared toward business. All of the popular stuff is based on entertaining the masses. I think a business section is a brilliant idea nad could really open up the functionality of the website.
