Perhaps the iPhone will be introduced the NEXT week, but it would not be much later that that.

If the new iPhone software will have GPS, the 3G iPhone MUST be introduced SOONER, rather than later. Developers will need to test their applications on the ACTUAL 3G iPhone, and for that to happen, the 3G iPhone must be available.
