Boy that's great logic you have there..."they all cheat." Speak for yourself when you say "its America and thats what we do." Do people cheat in life? Yes. Does it make it right? No. You're in a great position to throw out claims that all coaches cheat and the NCAA is picking on IU. Face the facts. Sampson did it once and was caught. He was put on probation and did it again. It's a shame because as much as it pains me to say it, he was a good coach. However, off the court, it was a whole different story. IU should be happy to be getting rid of him and not having to deal with his crap again. And stop talking about the "dumb" kids at Louisville when you can't even spell SamPson right.

Yes, to confirm, if Wood's your closer, bring him into close, especially in that situation. There's no need for him to come in at that point in the game. We had Howry and Wuertz on the bench; could have easily put one of those two in instead. Then again, if we don't bring in Wood, we don't see Kosuke hit that awesome three-run homer (thinking positive).

I've been saying that I prefer Miller Park (or Great American, San Fran's park) since the first time I visited each of these parks, with Miller Park being the first back in the middle of high school. It's an awesome park. Of course I love Wrigley...but these newer parks are so much nicer and more accommodating for not only us, the fans, but even more so for the players who, like E said, have to deal with that for an entire season. If you want to say I'm "not a true Cubs fan" because I think Wrigley needs to be redone, go right ahead. It won't bother me...my true Cub fan status has nothing to do with what parks I prefer.

Yay, I bought those tickets on 2/22/08 when they went on sale...and wouldn't you know it, we USED them instead of selling them on Craigslist/Stubhub for double!! Hopefully all these scumbags selling their tickets for hundreds (and even thousands) of dollars miss something incredible and end up regretting it for the rest of their lives....one can only hope.

I too would like to chime in (as a Cubs fan) of where I was. My (huge tool, loser, dbag) roommate and I were watching the game in Briscoe/GUCKER (holla!) when all of it unfolded. I'll never forget after the game was over, I had to go study for something. I went to the elevator and when it stopped, the door opened and there was a semi-cute girl already on the elevator. I walked in and apparently had such a horrid look/body language that the total stranger girl looked at me and said, "Are you ok?" I looked at her and said one word and one word only, "Cubs" which she replied, "ooohhhhh." I don't remember what I studied for, how long I studied or where exactly I went, but I do know I'll never forget that moment. *tear*

I was actually made aware of this video on Monday and was absolutely disgusted. I mean, honestly, I've never felt so embarrassed to associate myself with that school. PMK, you are right on. When I forwarded that video to my brother, he basically said the exact same thing. Do you really think top recruits are going to go to a place where sh*t like that is happening? It's absolutely ridiculous and those people in that video should be a)ashamed, b)embarrassed and c) kicked out of school. My friends and I have already had a running email chain this week about it and we cannot believe our eyes. Notre Dame is going down and it's going down fast.

My friend of mine sent the following out as part of the email chain: "From what I've heard Poorman's (Vice President of Student Affairs at ND) goal was to make ND into the next BYU, and it seems he is succeeding. I was talking to *name redacted* a few tailgates ago and he said he tried to drop off a case of beer to his old freshmen room in Dillon, but the two guys in the room, who never put down their XBox controllers to even say hello, said they didn't want it. They told Billy if he left the case, they would just throw it out." REALLY?? What college student(s) turn down a free case of beer?? I hope they had fun that night playing Halo 3, talking about their big game of Quidditch the next day.

Tailgating is still a great time because most of the people in the parking lot are alums who weren't around when ND started to suck. In the past few years, it has really taken a turn for the worst. I can only imagine how tailgating will be in 30 years. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if tailgating is outlawed there by the time I'm 50.
