I am actually pretty psyched, but the question is "when?" If I only need to pay an extra $100 to get a larger screen, better graphics, better video, and possibly a better Flash 10 experience, I think that's OK. Same logic that people have migrated from the 7" to 10", I think that some will prefer going from the 10" to the 12". Thoughts?
Yukon platform is <25W (CPU+Chipset), not just the CPU. Don't forget that the CPU and chipset are both in new low cost, low z-scale, BGA packages. and it can play real games and play HD video, unlike Atom platforms.
krunker Yes that's a good point - I'll make sure to clarify that - however, the thermal envelope is still higher than the Atom + chipset envelope which is roughly 11 watts. The main point here is - Yukon is unlikely (though not impossible) to be seen in netbook systems.. at least not the "traditional" netbook systems we have come to know of which would be 10 inch systems. Maybe 13 inch ultraportable notebooks that get renamed as mininotebooks/netbooks.
This does go to show that the line between ultraportables and netbooks is a fine one at that. One person's netbook is another's ultra-portable?
