I scrolled through DailyKos last night and all you could hear was the cauterwauling about FISA. I come over here and its the same scene. Even my writing group is up in arms about this.


But the sixty four thousand dollar question is, if they already have the NSA, the CIA, and at least one black bag organization funded through the blanket portion of the defense budget the Pentagon gets that is wreaking havoc out there, why are so many of us with good sense wasting our breath about this Mickey Mouse bill that doesn't really control jack shit?



We have been watched and listened to for decades, and it will continue, no matter what laws we put on the books, because the people in charge are scared of what you might do when nobody is looking.

Big story - overshadowed by Russert's death - political strategy seismographs are off the charts on this move - Obama seems to be taking advantage of his momentum here.

I guess the lack of excitement in the primaries has some of us up to our old devices - I was shocked at the number of comments I read on the web from people who purported to be black that are still raking Obama over the coals with the "is he black enough?" question.

Why Clyburn is a target is a mystery to me. He has never been known to be combative - he rose to prominence in South Carolina as the state's Human Affairs commissioner, and has been particularly adept at making the white power structure feel comfortable.



He's seen this kind of stuff before. The thing about these older black men who came out of the fields and swamps of South Carolina - they have not forgotten how to confront the mean part of life that ex-crackers don't seem to want to forget.

Puerto Ricans are going to lay low - the general take on their level of participation in the political process must have come from a report somebody blew the dust off of - word on the blogs out of the PR is they don't really care that much about stateside politics BECAUSE they don't have a say in the general election.
