in Will “The Dark Knight” Break Opening Weekend Box Office Records? on Pop Critics
Hey guys - remember me? Just bought our tickets to see it on MAX Saturday morning. I honestly can't remember being this excited to see a movie in a long time.

Awesome! We're going to see it Friday morning at IMAX as well.

By the way, yes, I remember you :)

I don't disagree with you at all. I'm just saying that, based on what I've read about the man, that description, while incomplete I'm sure, sounds accurate with regard to certain aspects.

And he does look a lot like President Bush. Wow. I think Elizabeth Banks looks a little like Mrs. Bush as well.

Not saying that Stone won't slant the portrayal to fit his needs, but isn't Bush a reformed drunk and partier who was obsessed with Saddam Hussein and baseball and who has a conflicted relationship with his father? Seems like an accurate description to me based on everything I've read about the man. We also have video of his foul mouth and flipping off a camera before an interview. That said, I am sure Stone will turn it up to 11. :-)

Tom Jane would be pretty good in the role Cap'n. Another name I heard was Ryan Phillipe.

I loved Anchorman and am cautiously optimistic that they could pull off a sequel. They definitely need Steve Carell to make this work.

in New trailers for The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones on Pop Critics
Loved both trailers, but especially The Dark Knight. Loved the scene where The Joker is meeting with the criminals. The way Ledger delivers the line about killing Batman was perfect. I am so pumped for this flick. I won't make the same mistakes I made with Iron Man though :-)

Wow. I am really interested to see what they do with Thor. And will they update Captain America from the beginning like they did with Iron Man or will they have him fighting Nazis? Can't wait!

Dwight - "Menstrual cycles"
I also love how Ryan is just the biggest slime ball now. Jim better watch out because both Ryan and Toby are both gunning for him now.
Hilarious.

in The Friday Question: Bring your show back! on Pop Critics
I've got one that I think no one else will mention - The Guardian starring Simon Baker. It aired on CBS and was about a lawyer with a drug problem who has to do court-ordered pro bono work at a legal aid clinic. An original television show with good story lines and excellent acting. So, of course, it was canceled before it ran its course. Plus, it was set in Pittsburgh, which is a refreshing change from the usual settings.
I also love Arrested Development, but I am just now getting into it on HDNet so I have a few episodes to go before I start longing for more :-)

I am more of a Marvel guy, but I agree wholeheartedly with your No. 1 pick - Green Lantern. That would be an awesome flick. I'm also in the minority because I didn't think Daredevil was that bad.

in American Idol 2008 - Top 5 Performance (4/29/08) Recaps on Pop Critics
It should be David C and Syesha in the finals Cap'n. Syesha continues to grow every week. Both she and David C are complete packages. David A is just a singer and boring - he never changes it up like David C or even Syesha.

in American Idol 2008 - Top 5 Performance (4/29/08) Recaps on Pop Critics
Last night was awful. I actually thought about turning it off. If they are going to force the contestants to endure these themes, why not do it with some CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS. Andrew Lloyd Weber, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, and hell, I'll even through Mariah Carey into the mix. Just not my thing.
I am a big fan of Jason's and didn't think that his performance last week was as bad as most thought. This week, he was bad. Forever in Blue Jeans wasn't awful, there just wasn't a whole lot there. His second song was just downright boring. I agree Jason, he really doesn't seem to care.
Brooke was bad as well.
David A can really really sing, but come on. It is the same thing week after week after week with him. I thought his performances were cheesy and "theme park-ish". He can't keep up with David C.
No way Syesha should go home, but I think you may be right Jason. By the way, how does Simon expect the performers to avoid sounding "old fashioned" (as he accused Syesha of being) when they continue to have these terrible themes.
Anyone think Simon may have been trying to get people to vote for Syesha when he said she is in danger of going home?

Excellent point. I just found it kind of convenient that they picked off one person after another with one shot and then Sawyer comes out unscathed. Why am I being nitpicky anyway? I love this show!

in Ultimate Bad Ass: Round 2 - John McClane Bracket on Pop Critics
Seems like two impossible choices, but when you think about it, it is not that tough of a choice, especially with regard to the first match-up. McClane is awesome, but Bruce Lee was a bad ass in real life and in the movies.
