in Angry blogger “Noxious Nigel” attacks South African IT professionals on Simon Dingle
How do I get invited to read Noxious Nigel blog? I noticed its by invite only because it gives me a permission denied error. Anyway if Nigel is reading here I have been working in the IT industry since 1997 and have many, many stories to share, especially about working in the IT/Network departments of two of the large banks.

Excellent post Simon. Only discovered your blog today while searching for more web 2.0 opinion pieces in South Africa. The fundamental flaw with techno geekz turned social media wizkids is the opportunistic thinking. Strategic thinking requires insight, understanding but most importantly practical hands on experience. Blogging about blogging or social media is not enough of a qualification.

Very interesting news indeed. Thanks Vinny for bringing this appointment to my attention. I met Stafford a few years ago when I tried to sell a sponsorship for very large Open Source research project to him, on behalf of World Wide Worx. Anyway he's done wonders for open source and has the vibe, the vision and the veracity to pull it off for Google.
