in Once again, Twitter’s death is laid out. Once again, users will fail to notice on VentureBeat
The reason services like Pownce and Plurk "failed" is because they tried to be Twitter with little perks that normal users about like media-sharing and a scrolling timeline (which is annoying to me). Twitter is simplicity. Until a micro-messaging service is released that more simple, Twitter will be #1.

in Politics and Baseball on Twitter: Who’s on First? on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Wait a minute, the world series already started? MSNBC didn't say anything, so I didn't know. Damn you, Olbermann!

I'm sure Olbermann jumped on the baseball rhetoric the candidates mentioned. If not, he's a total boob :-)

Mark, I love your idea. When I typed in my inspiration, I had no clue it would connect me with photos and videos tagged filtered specifically for my inspiration. Fantastic job!

in With its mountain of cash, Apple could buy… on VentureBeat
Out of the selection there, I would buy Netflix. It continues to grow and would be a great acquisition for any company. The combination of AppleTV and Netflix (of course they have to dramatically change their business model) could do amazing things and would be a wonderful product.

Sweet! This will come in handy the next time I make a "Leave Britney Alone" parody. Hopefully I win. ^_^

in A Freaking DOS Attack on John Cow dot COM
I too was the victim of a DOS attack, except my attacker was a 14 year-old kid who didn't like my gaming forum. He decided to attack the site everyday for a month, I was kicked off multiple hosting companies and eventually had to desert the site.
It's sad that these sort of attacks can't be prevented, especially on powerful dedicated servers. Hopefully the creep doesn't do it again, man. Good luck.

Really cool, hopefully they'll start doing this with the other popular bookmarking services soon.
@LiveCrunch iBegin has a really cool service, I might test it to see how effective it is compared to ShareThis.

I wanted to include the pull-down menus, but decided they were too inappropriate, hehe

While I know a few people that I'm following are going to be there and I hope they update accordingly. I'm curious if Mashable could provide an extensive list of people that are going to be covering WWDC live via Twitter.

in Does Social Media Site Reliability Matter? on Social Times
Julian is right 100%, the reason most social media sites that have issues with scaling (like Twitter) can survive is because the average user doesn't notice. Twitter isn't just for internet marketers or tech savvy web users. That would be like saying the only people who visit Digg are desperate bloggers looking to one day hit the front page. Once Twitter gets their issues worked out, sites like Plurk will be obsolete because who wants a noisy timeline when you can have Twitter? ^_^

in This Website (On Obama) Was Paid For By The GOP on The Inquisitr
The Dems. need to fire back with a MeetMcBush.com and inform people of why voting for McCain would be like giving Bush an extra term in the White House.

in Blogger Puts Twitter Account Sponsorship on eBay on Social Times
There has been lots of talk about this, but I heard just this morning that it was being done for charity which brings justification to it. I just don't want to see the "Twitterholics" taking money from advertisers for sponsored tweets.

It was a good idea, but the hosts are pretty boring and the news they discuss is what we read in our RSS readers every week. Looking forward to seeing Epic Fu as a regular now though.

in Twitter May Suck, But Pownce Sucks Just as Much on Marketing Pilgrim
I'll take Twitter downtime over Pownce's slow and laggy messaging interface anyday. While the service is great for media lovers, it takes too long to do any task and the site goes down just as randomly as Twitter, if not more.

in Blockbuster Sued Over Facebook Ads on Marketing Pilgrim
Ridiculous, if she didn't want her information shared, she should have disabled beacon. The big question though is why she wanted to hide what videos she rented/bought. She has a right to her own privacy and all, but what does it matter if your friends know what movies you rented? (unless she rented some XXX) ^_^

in schMooooze Your Way to More Exposure on John Cow dot COM
I have to disagree with the "its not what you know its who you know". You can be good friends with Chow, Rowse, and Schoemaker, have links on all their sites and be mentioned a lot. But if the content of your blog sucks, no one will read it. So it is more of half and half
Great post, hope to see some more from you.
