Dial-up only eh? You should try living for a year trying to be a new media geek with only sparodic internet access. I agree with you about it being a warning when feeling evangelical. It is all too easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the social revolution of the internet is the be-all and end-all of modern society, whilst forgetting that a lot of people have no interest in or feel they have no need for Twitter / YouTube / LinkedIn etc
