in Why Working Long, Hard Hours Gets You Behind (?) on The Cranking Widgets Blog
Great read.
Not only working long hard hours is not the way to productivity, you'll also be constantly living with a feeling I can describe as "doing one thing while feeling like you should be doing another". Not too pleasant.
You have to also spend time unplugged.

Thanks for that link Dan!
Since I wrote the original post, I've switched to using OmniFocus on the Mac and iPhone. There's a big of a learning curve, but once I figured it out, it works perfectly for me.
I've also switched from using Google Notebook to using EverNote.

Great tip from Mark Cuban.
In fact it's common sense, it can be found in classics like "The richest man in Babylon"
Don't invest in domains you are not familiar with.

Great article.
Indeed, the passion for your product is the most important thing you should look for.
See Guy Kawasaki as an example. He never worked in IT before being hired by Apple. He worked in the diamond industry. But he was an apple Fanatic and still is.

Correct.
The best way to achieve a result is to set up systems and conditions, so what you want to happen happens automatically.
Using the hotsts file, and uninstalling apps are great examples.
You can't always trust your human will power in these situations.

in Converting Coworkers on The Cranking Widgets Blog
Great article.
There's no point in trying to convert anyone intro your way of thinking. The only way is to make it appear like it's their idea. And this idea will "pop up" magically when they see the results that are possible.

Cross it off and forget about it. Unless you use a digital system with the facility to search and duplicate a task.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the opinion.
Lets suppose you do use a digital system. Is it worth 2 clicks and maybe a few keystrokes per action to attach to a project/file it?

If you would like to implement some of Stephen Covey's best ideas, you can use this web aplication:

You can use it to manage and prioritize your Goals (in each of your life's categories), projects and tasks, in an intuitive interface. It has a Checklists section, for the repetitive activities you have to do, important but not urgent (Quadrant II, for example your routines/habits). Also, it features a Schedules section and a Calendar, for scheduling you time, activities and for the weekly review.
Some features from GTD are also present, like Contexts and Next Actions.
And it's available on the mobile phone too, so you can access it wherever you are.
