in New Obama Film Coming in March on rise up Rochester
I wonder what it will say about Obama that we don't already know. I mean, a person has to be pretty brainwashed to be under this man's spell. Obama was placed into office by his banking handlers to do exactly what he's doing now. He is the face of international socialism

in Surveillance State: The Antithesis of Liberty on rise up Rochester
It's been proven that gun control doesn't stop gun violence. It only floods the black market with illegal guns while making them harder to obtain for law-abiding citizens. I am aware of this. However, they will USE (read: exploit) this incident to push for more cameras, more police, and more anti-crime legislation. That is how it always works. Problem-reaction-solution.

Agreed. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny. It is already illegal for a 14 year old to have a hand gun and to shoot a police officer. Yet somehow despite the fact that it was illegal he was able to not only have the gun but to shoot a police officer as well. No laws will ever prevent this type of thing from happening.

You're speaking to the choir, Andrew.

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of legislation (gun control and otherwise) is put forward in the wake of the recent incident in the city involving the Rochester police officer being shot.

As unfortunate as that shooting was, we must remember that any right can be used or abused. Due process sometimes means the guilty walk free, the right to bear arms means sometimes innocents will be shot, and the right to assembly means that sometimes there will be riots.
The real question is, can riots be prevented simply by making them illegal?
Can abuses of free speech me prevented simply by restricting speech?
Can violence against innocents be reduced by making gun ownership illegal?
The answer, of course, is that criminals are criminals because they have no regard for the law. If a criminal would use a gun to hurt someone, they are already planning on doing something illegal. They don't really care about having a gun illegally. Gun control laws should be seen as victim-disarmament laws, because only law-abiding citizens will gladly give up their weapons.
The only way to truly be protected is to protect yourself. Unfortunately, for the police officer, we do not yet know the motive for the person who shot him. What I do know is that for a lot of people the police are the face of a tyrannical government. I'm sure most of them are great people, but they represent something else beyond just the uniform.

in Jesus, Jefferson, Gandhi, Hamilton and Hitler on Gun Control on rise up Rochester
People have been indoctrinated to see guns as "evil," but this is purely by design so people will clamor to government to present the "solution," which the government is more than eager to offer. Whether a person likes guns or not (and I myself am no fan of guns), it's important that people understand the agenda behind gun control and the move to disarm the people.

in 9/11 Truthers Are Not Holocaust Deniers on rise up Rochester
What's with all the kooaid drinkers?
It's an old COINTELPRO/ADL tactic to accuse those who ask critical questons as being anti-Semites. Even those who were critical of the PNAC/neocon agenda have been accused of being anti-Semites. It's all about shutting people up that come too close to the truth.
Even those who question the Holocaust (as all people should) are not Holocaust deniers. Nobody denies that Holocaust happened and that it was a horrible thing. But people should also question how the Holocaust has been politicized for an agenda. This has been written about by actual Jews like Norman Finkelstein, in his excellent book, titled 'The Holocaust Industry.'
Holocaust translates to a BURNT OFFERING.
The Holocast was funded by the West, as the West funded Hitler and the Nazis through Wall Street and London. I am sure many of us know about the role Bush's grandaddy Prescott played in funding the Nazis through Brown Brothers Harriman. Many of you know about IG Farben. It's important we actually understand the people behind the Holocaust and the suffering of so many good and innocent people. The Holocaust was used to create the global sympathy needed so people would accept a state of Israel in the Middle East to take over that region.
90% of today's Jewish have no ancestral ties to what is today called Israel. That is a fact. It is not anti-Semitic to say that.

in How Much Government Do We Need in Our Lives? on rise up Rochester
It must be understood that government creates many of the problems to then offer the solution to those very same problems, which entails more government and more centralization of power. With this comes this evisceration of more freedoms. This is the Hegelian Dialectic at work. We must ask ourselves who most benefits from this. The people who run this system use SOCIALISM to consolidate power and control, while using carefully-crafted propaganda to mislead the public into believing it's for their benefit. We are lead to believe that government is the solution to many of the problems we see, when those problems were created by government intervention in the first place.

Thanks Matt, it's true. One of my International Relations Professor's favorite quotes is "The Sicilian Mafia is in the same business as the government: It sells protection from itself." - That's from a famous professor, but I forget his name. I think we may be reading his article and I'll try to write something about it.

Yes but when the people refuse to rise up against this it tells the government that their actions are fine
