Set up with your mobile number, Amazon / Apple send a 5 digit short-code to you, and from then on you can send requests in! A quick response with what you asked for... and its all done!

Looking at the comments, a few people mention jott (only available in USA) and mobile web browsing... If the entire article if covering a range of different topics, then it should be split into different posts. The entire Article length should not be more than two pages of A4. Otherwise it's rambling and should be split across more than one article.

This would allow the author to put his main point across sufficiently, with the reader having understanding.

Re: Whispers of the G2 Android phone grow louder

I firmly believe that there will be a whole range of Android Phones in 2009, so a Jan 26th release date isn't that unbelievable. Right Click > properties > change this to /Macintosh HD/Users/nick/Documents

Once you have clicked Apply, and then OK, it will ask if you want to move everything from My Documents to the new folder.. My Uni in UK was not on the list, and was not added for a couple of years after I left. So when they opened up, I was straight there. Now all those people I knew from Uni, High School, old workplaces who are all there are on it. Its great to find out what people are up to!

One thing that the FB Dev's need to do though is to create a way of segregating your friend list. For instance, I have 160 'genuine' friends on FB, but really only actually keep in touch with approx 50 of them. They should be my A friends. Another 100 are 'old' friends, and people I probably wouldn't make the effort to keep in touch with. These should be my B friends. I have added a few work colleagues. These should be my C friends. Finally, like a lot of your 2500 friends, they are just people I know online. My D friends.

Why cant the FB Dev Team create a system, where I can classify them? 'Limited Friend' is not enough. This way, my B/C/D friends do NOT see what the interaction is between my A friends and myself is.. This would then make it a lot more useful.. and private!

PS the best features of FB is planning nights/events. Its great to see who is coming, and all the other little directions. Also after, people can share the photos with those who came along!

Re: Things on my mind…

Robert-

Take some enjoyed time off!! I realised a long time ago that t'interwebs was taking up far too much of my time. I know I have a slightly addictive nature, but I thought being addicted to information can't be too bad.. its not the worse addiction after all!

Anyway, finding something new out gives me a great feeling, and with RSS feeds I find loads of new things out everyday. But its really distracting. So I had to amend this habit, so it wasnt too time consuming!

Now I still can't actually cull the feeds, but using some shared feeds and ranking my sites ; Primary / Secondary / tertiary / personal & work, means I can spend a little free time reading my PRIMARY feed, a little work time reading my WORK and FRIENDS feed, and mark the rest as read.

gReader gives me the ability to search, so if I need to find something its my third stop - after two pages of Google & del.icio.us

I still spend a couple of hours a day on this, but now I dont feel as guilty, and actually get on with life!

As for the others, I just let gReader pick up a PERSONAL feed, and can scan what my my friends are doing, and go to the site if I need to respond.

Anyway... Like I said at the beginning "great article" .. I know it is when you can spend some time writing a comment, as it struck you in its own way. Thanks.

Re: How our digital lives are spreading out

Robert.

See if Disqus can do commenting for you as you wish. It would only let me use disqus for NEW comments only, on blogs without them .. but I am sure for someone like you they could find a way around it ;)

That way you can also bring your comments into FriendFeed.

Worth a try anyway.. It sucks..

Not going to go into a rant into politics, but our current government (http://www.labour.org.uk/education) want 50% of 18 year olds to achieve a degree at university (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widening_participa...) ... The problem with this?? It lowers the value of a degree.

As such a degree is becoming worthless, and its more important to achieve a credible result, so that you can study a PhD or masters.

The purpose of a degree is to give the ability to take information from many sources, and turn that into understanding. Its not what you learn, but how you do it.

Re: What Do You Think Of Gears Of War So Far?

"Best Game Ever.." said in Comic Book Guy style!
I feel like I am at the movies.. not yet playing on xbox live, wait till I get to grips with things!
Its even better on a HD projector :)

Re: What Do You Think Of Gears Of War So Far?

Every time I go on xbox live I get a serious ass kicking

jura55ik

Re: Help With WordPress Timestamps

well.. its 16:35 GMT or thereabouts right now.. as I am sure you are fully aware!

Re: New Members Of MyBlogLog Community

Cheers Everton! He (think its he.. maybe she) recently did a logo redesign (search 'logo' on site for more details) and got LOADS of flak..

Just a pre-warning!!

Personally in this day and age, I believe a logo design does deserve credit (maybe not payment for speculative design though... think of the idiots that designed that bloody Olympic Logo for London). The designers should all get there websites linked to from a 'hot' page of yours. From this WebSite a link in your footer is worth its weight in gold to the designer who actually 'wins' this comp!!

Re: Please Choose Your Favourite $100 Logo

#2 and #5 - but dont like the font on #2 -- the Logo is great on both of them!

Re: Windows Home Server Review

waiting for my $5 120 day trial disk now! this 'should' hopefully solve most of my issues!
