At present the single compelling reason for me to want a baby, is to have my own, to mold in my own image. I'd at least need to start with the right seed stock.

Re: Mark's Blog

Joseph,

I have them somewhere... About 2 years ago I lost my free co-hosted server. I had to move things to a shared service. It turned out to be such a pain, that they never were properly restored. I just changed hosts a few hours ago. Bandwidth/storage should no longer be a concern... and setting it up should be easy.

I'm looking for my backups now. Worst case they are sitting on a machine in back in Pittsburgh... it may have to wait until the next time I'm home.

Mark

Re: Mark's Blog

Yeah, I think the backup of the twiki is on a machine at home... a place I haven't been long enough to follow through on. I'm in Athens for the rest of this week, but I should be home (England) for most of July. That should give me enough time to comb through my backups and see what I've got.

If I remember correctly the caliper rebuild notes were pretty thorough.

Mark

Re: Quick thoughts on Amsterdam

I am an American living in England (as of November '06)... if anything the Brits are more judgmental and certainly more class-aware than any American... they are just very subtle when/if they choose to express it.

And to clarify my post... which may have been a bit more crude than you may have noticed. There is something fundamentally extra sexy about an attractive woman riding a bicycle. Not cross-training, spandex-clad, energy-bar munching, helmeted, "serious"-cyclists... but women using a bicycle for transport... preferably wearing boots & a nice skirt. I never saw this in the US, but it's fairly common in Europe.

I don't have a statistically valid sampling of other men's opinions on the subject, but my view is shared unanimously with my coworkers who have traveled with me.

Re: One social network/organizer/calendar to rule them all

Yes she did. Sorry, she disabled comments on her site because she was getting so much spam (hundreds of spam comments a day.) (Which Askimet filters out)

Sorry to hear the noise returned. It is really sensitive to adjustment... I spent at least 2 hours getting my drive to be quiet AND stay quiet. Run a few miles (often singing along the way) trying to follow the trail (they purposely set false trails) to more beer, possibly repeat. At the end they take care of club business, sing incredibly raunchy songs, and have a bite to eat.

You don't have to be a good runner, or a heavy drinker, it's more important to be open-minded and fun.

There are hash houses the world round, each with their own customs.

Re: Gmail Import

Instead of modifying the subject, change your gmail address thusly:

say I'm uploading my oldSent folder I'd use: account+oldSent@gmail.com

Then I'd build a filter for To: account+oldSent@gmail.com

Re: Gmail Import

weird.
