hm, well I'm going to try to look into that because I tried to do a host family stay in japan this summer but I didn't receive a scholarship so [sadly] could not go.

in Tofugu Poll: What do YOU want to see more of? on Tofugu Comments
Let's see..sometimes something about real news in japan and sometimes about grammary history to see if you understand (it) better.
thats my translation.
Even though My spanish sucks...
but as to the site....
I think you should (of course) add more japanese blogs that involve teaching a few things, but like gueru said, something so we can practice reading and see if we are understanding it.
I'd also like to see more of the "japanese textbook reviews" so we can see what are the other [good] things out there.

in Japanese Textbook Review: Genki I on Tofugu Comments
I just typed in tofugu.com and BAM! There it was...Genki! I got this book for christmas and I've been teaching myself since. Sometimes I'm a little lazy and might skip over a few things before they are majorly ingrained in my head, but I have to say, this book is great! And I think how it always puts you in host family situations is great, well, for me that is. I might be going to japan this summer with YFU so I thought it's pretty neat. I'm glad you made a review of this book and you even gave it a 10/10, which (I think) is always a good thing.
well anywayz. nice review.

in Resolutions for Learning Better Japanese in 2008 on Tofugu Comments
good suggestions. I'm definatly gonna try the 'kanji a day' and 'read an article', but I better find some lower level, not so complex writings because I'm not that far along yet.

ahha. When I think of plaid, I imagine Clark Kent from Smallville. The classic farm boy, and yet, I don't think the police were going for that look.

Now that’s something you don’t see everyday. I think Koichi is right, an entire hello kitty uniform is much more humilating. Stealing plaid you say? interesting………Maybe they were just sick of seeing the same old colors and thought "hey, this looks pretty [dang] cool" haha

in A Work in Progress on Tofugu Comments
hey, nice update. And I'm really looking forward to the japanese lessons. I've been teaching myself japanese for about 6 months and I think this could really help me. And the lessons could have a few vocab, a verb here and there. a verb ending, and maybe a small conversation with someone (formal and casual). I know I might be sounding a little pushy but I think these are good suggestions, unless, everyone else thinks they aren't. Well that's all.
Keep it up!
jaa ne!
oh, and I would really like to write for the website. I want to be a journalist, and I would love all the practice/experience I can get. And if I did submit something, what should it be about?

They were even nice enough to pay for it, too, and pay my host family
for things like bikes and food. mmm.
