Advertisements!? Your remote can display ads? Screw that, I have enough ads in my life. Cool features or not the last thing I need is my stupid remote beeping at me in the middle of the night to alert me that I need to buy beer and tampons.

Well, this attitude fits with the current trend. I don?t think people taking responsibility for children will get any better as time goes on. Instead tools will be made, much like those already available, to track and catalog your offspring. Instead of spending time teaching parents will let the tools teach & track. Should the tools fail the blame will be placed firmly on the companies behind the tools. People are what they are, taking responsibility is hard and thus people do not wish to do it. Instead they will continue to find tricks to avoid it.

I wonder what the melting point is. I?d get one for my car if it wouldn?t melt. I?m sick of pens breaking down in the summer heat. I poked around on the linked page but couldn?t find any real data on it.

Cool tech but I wouldn?t want someone driving while watching a movie. I nearly get hit every day on my way to and from work from simple phone disruptions. I?d be furious to get hit by some guy watching porn!

Does anyone actually use those special function keys? I?ve seen them on keyboards for years now but I can?t think of a time when pushing one of those buttons was easer than double clicking an icon. On a side note I?d love to see a keyboard that reverses the key blocks. I?d like to have the arrow keys on the left side of the alpa keys then the number pad after that. [789+] [] [qwertyuiop] While I?m not left handed it?d be nice to have this type of layout.

As cool as this kind of thing is I remember having one way back before LEDs took over the world. The biggest problem with things like this is that the casing, battery and light are so big your keys no longer lay flat making your key ring bulge in your pocket. I?d like to see something like this only make the key itself the light. Just put a core tube of plastic down the center of the key. Or make the key itself out of a sturdy clear plastic. You may need to replace the key every few years but a plastic key would still work. Then just have the battery sit in the end. With a small profile battery and the LED built into the key itself the key would be much nicer to have on your key ring. Heck, they could even make them all one thing and sell them for 50 cents or something. Just pick out one and get it cut, when it dies go get another. It?d be good for locksmiths too!

This is a cool concept but I would think trying to cook on a flexible surface would be a bit messy, if not a pain. It wouldn?t be too bad on an electric cook top or even one of those induction systems. Or you could make it a plug-in pan just put the cooking coils inside. Now if only they had a wok and pots.

Hmm? Boring? ...Hic!

It is nice to actually see this device working. I?ve been following this type of projector for some time but have never seen a video or photo of it in action. This would be extremely useful; especially if they can get it brighter and higher resolutions. I?d like one in my laptop for work so I?d not have to carry a projector around. Not sure about adding it to a phone but then again, why not?

It really is sad to see all this disposable stuff. What ever happened to recycling? While the fad is to get ?green? we keep seeing companies moving backwards. I long for the day we use edible paper containers for take out food, rechargeable batteries that don?t die after 10 uses etc. While the idea of being able to recharge your phone on the go is a nice one, is it so hard to just drop off the old recharger when you get a new one? A little responsibility and effort goes a long way. If you work at one thing at a time soon it becalms habit, then you move to the next; Simple things like returning your shopping cart, washing the dishes after you use them or recycling a battery.

While I see the advantage of bipedal robots I can?t help but think we may be going to wrong direction. Four or even six legs are far more stable and efficient. I?d like to see more work on centaur-like robots in the house. This type of design would allow them to interact in normal human ways but also carry much more. Not only that, kids could ride the robots around! Or maybe even bear-like robots that can stand upright and walk around when needed but drop to all fours when going long distances or carrying large heavy loads.

I can?t think of a time I?ve used an umbrella. Then again, I too live in a very windy ran zone. If not for the wind I?m sure those things would be useful.

That is cool. It?s nice to see that some people might be working on some thing this cool.
Again though, I?ll wait till they come out with one based on flexible LCDs or OLEDs or something. That way I can control the curve and maybe even roll it up like a projector screen when I?m done.

Re: Chameleon ? No way, LEDs are not the way, you?d need OLEDs or something like it imbedded in the fabric to synthesize the right colors and lighting.

I could see a great many abuses of such tech. While I love the idea I also find the idea of advertising in such a way disturbing. Advertising is becalming much too intrusive and this could add even more. Add sound and you have a walking billboard. Eww.

That is the stupidest looking thing I?ve seen in a very long time. That said it?s nice to know people are trying new things.

WTF? Ok, I've seen some odd ideas of art but come on!

Do you need some sort of permit to own one of these? In the USA?

Or more likely a mesh network to inform the cars of impending problems. With this tech you wouldn?t need constant connection with cars, just junction boxes placed here and there. That way you could send info to the onboard computer about all kinds of things, like traffic updates. Then just use the mesh to propagate the info. Could be useful way beyond telling off another driver, though that I?m sure that would happen. Hopefully just one more step towards self driving cars, something I feel really needs to happen soon.

Good use for one of those new physics cards. I?d use a desktop like that! If for no other reason then it?d be fun at first. I?m sure there is more to come later if they get funding.
