I must be the only person on the planet who hasn't bought Thriller - yet. LOL I too loved MJ's earlier albums and was glued to MTV as a kid in the 80s when he released the Thriller video. Very cool stuff. :D Anyhoo, I'm thrilled that you liked my garden post and thank you for the linky love.

in How Do You Solve a Problem Like Newspapers? on Investoralist
I used to work at a paper. My problem with being a journalist long again was my voice was always buried in the "voice" of the paper. The real story was buried to appease advertisers and sell copy. People want real. With self-publishing platforms like blogs, readers can tailor their preferences to what they want. Publishers need to work to provide quality information with value to earn readers. I think this model works. Readers choose. Publishers don't dictate and push content. Readers pull content in their feeds.

in New gym = WIN! on melle.ca
Wow. Your gym sounds like a dream! I workout in my basement using foam rollers, stretch cords, and my Bosu ball. Since I live in the country (in the middle of a forest) the amenities of city life are all but a dream. I must admit to missing the YWCA in Vancouver. I loved the pool. :D

in Are you a storyteller? What is your story? on The Thinkmaya Blog
As a former journalist, I never could insert myself into my stories. This is one reason I have grown to love blogging. Not only can I write about my own experiences but I can use my OWN voice.

Thank you so much for the mention. I'm so happy you liked my cars and smoking analogy. Sooo many people were rather upset with me for writing this article.

The first Carnival of Careers is a HUGE SUCCESS! Way to go Steve! Starting this carnival is a brilliant idea and obviously fills a needed and popular niche.

Thank you so much for including my post as an Editor's Pick! Congratulations once again on such a successful inaugural carnival!

in how I managed to spend almost $9000 on lunch this year on brip blap
Ahh, the cost of not investing the "lunch money" brings the total to 9K. You got me in a panic there. My work colleagues always poke a little fun at me for brown bagging my lunch daily. I'm laughing all the way to the bank to be honest. I even put together a guide to eating lunch frugally: 5 Frugalicious Lunches (A Visual Guide).

Basically, being honest and less lazy is a good start. ;)

Maybe I'm weird...but I think the egg looks kinda good. I felt inspired and ate an omelette for lunch.

I too think this way. How much is my time worth in CDs, or whatever I am looking to purchase. The answer is usually not to spend considering the cost to earn the money.

Ohh, taking pictures of food is not easy. I've done a series of posts now on food (visual guides), and it's darn hard to make real food look tasty in pics...most food advertising does not contain actual food. ;)
