Especially interesting is the capability to detect the current cell id from within the cell phone. I tested the service on the same provider (Rogers) using two different Windows Mobile 6 devices at the exact same spot. One was working the other was not. Why ?

The Google software was unable to obtain the current cell id to which the phone was connected in one of them. There is two variables at play (detect current cell id from phone, map it to known location in the area).

Later - Martin

Re: The Data GPS

Matt: Is this the same thing as FireEagle ? Do you have a packaged app to try out for those of us who already have the Android Emulator installed....

Re: Rogers Announces Abusive iPhone Rates in Canada

You are totally right. Also given all the forthcoming apps that will be published to the AppStore, you bandwidth consumption will surely be quite high. Unlimited bandwidth enables those application to run without you worrying about data consumption. And it also help the development community really used the iPhone as an Internet device.

Guess is Rogers is not understanding any of this. I think we need to call them and explain what this means beyond greed and profits... Seems the monopoly wins again...

Re: Small Tip: How to Enable ActiveRecord Logging in Merb

I tried doing the same thing for my test env. so I could witness the SQL statements being run when I do rake specs but no success.

Any suggestions...

Re: Paying Lip Service to Failure Is Not Enough

Hey Ben:

One of your best post that clearly explains the failure situation and how you can get the best of it.

Thanks - Martin

Re: Merb 0.9.0 (developer release)

Excellent... and I really like the rack-based support for Thin as well.
