I heard about the Lebron/Jay-z thing from a story over on Highbrid Nation and I honestly don't see Lebron leaving Cleveland. He seems like one of the few athletes around today with integrity and loyalty. I could be wrong though.

I wasn't to aware of how big the issue was with people hacking the iPhone until one of the writers at my Highbrid Nation site did a story on it.

I'd rather wait until Apple decides to make it official. though i do admire the guys who are smart enough to hack those things.

that was a funny read. Poor Wesley, lol. According to my fellow Highbrid Nation blogger Juan, Wesley cut 15 million dollars in checks hoping to get a little mercy from the court but got nothing but the book thrown at him. Guess we won't be seeing a Blade 4 anytime soon. Though I feel bad that his sentence was so harsh, I also feel like if I have to pay taxes then so does he.

Bill is a clown and some others on the far right are just as bad. It just bothers me so much that race is such an issue in the current presidential race. Another writer over on Highbrid Nation wrote a piece about how very recently Repulicans have been surveying college students to see how far they could push the racial stereotype language before people would say its too much. How crazy is that?! It'd be nice if we could judge these candidates on their leadership skills and nothing else. I know, thats not gonna happen.

Juan over at Highbrid Nation did a nice piece on these racist cartoon showing up on the net. My opinion on the whole thing is that these cartoons need to be soon and should not be sweeped under a rug or locked in a vault. They are part of our history. Our society (Whites and blacks alike) seem to want to hide or "ban" anything viewed as racist. Whats the end goal? To say "look. no racism". We need to look at things such as these cartoons so we can understand how deep rooted racism is and was. Only then can we move forward. Pretending like they don't exist doesn't help.

Over at Highbrid Nation we have been talking the Apple TV and how unimpressed we are with it. I just don't believe that most people will be able to get much out of it. Too many issues to deal with. I'll likely be a while before I make such an investment.

Me and the other writers over at Highbrid Nation loved The Wire. Actually, one of our guys just did a post today talking about how important The Wire was to viewers as well as the cast.

I think The Wire is one of those shows that most people won't truly get until years from now. 20 years from now people will look back on the Wire as one of the greatest shows ever created.

I run a blog that is aimed at the urban crowd and as a black man I'd like to go on record saying I don't think Geraldine Ferraro is racist at all. At least not in the way we generally think of a racist. She see Barack being black as an advantage and not a disadvantage. In a way she is right. His race does get him noticed but in all honesty it is not going to help him get elected at all. One of the other writers over at Highbrid Nation says Geraldine Ferraro is evil not racist, lol. He might not be too far off.

I wrote about Common being in Terminator 4 over at Highbrid Nation and I was interested in seeing what others had to say on the matter. All I have to say is that Common must have a heck of an agent because he's constantly getting good roles though he doesn't appear to be that great of an actor. I've also already convinced myself that T4 will be a very different beast than the Terminator movies I grew up on. They are including rappers in the cast and have anounced PG-13 rating. Even as a hip hop blogger I have to say "no thanks". Give me the blood and gore and keep the kiddies out.

I'm still buzzing off of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five being inducted into the Rock of Roll Hall of Fame. It was so big for me when we got to interview Grandmaster Mele Mel over at Highbrid Nation. As a person who grew up on hip hop, I'm just glad to see it being respected.

I was talking about BET's Black Panther show over on Highbrid Nation. I honestly feel like its one of the best ideas to come out of BET in a long time. Let's face it over the last few years BET has become nothing more than "MTV starring black people". And MTV really isn't the best model for a network to follow. I plan to keep an eye on how this develops. Could it signal a change in the direction of BET?...lol probably not.

Yeh we've been talking about this over at Highbrid Nation. One thing that is for sure is that Eddie was not keeping in mind his audience when he started and the Black Enterprise people were not considering the material of Eddie when they booked him. Before it becomes a matter of if the N word is ok or not its a matter of thinking about the people you are gonna be dealing with.

One of the other writer's on Highbrid Nation did a nice post talking about the Black Panthers endorsing Barack and what this means in light of the Rev. Wright controversy. Honestly I'm feeling like the panthers are doing Barack a disservice for even making such and anouncement. Between Rev. Wright and the Panthers I'm starting to feel like black people may be responsible for Barack not getting elected when it's all said and done.

wow, i've been waiting to hear something like this. I was recently thinking of upgrading my site to BuddyPress when it launches but I was worried that people would not want to sign up for yet another social network. i was hopong someonw would come up with a plugin that use Facebook connect. Even my hip hop blog Highbrid Nation had to report on project Virgle. If it is indeed real, then it is huge and is major in the area of space exploration. However I fear that it is indeed and elaborate April Fool's Day hoax. I guess we'll know for sure if announcements continue after today. Personally I'd love to see the two companies team up considering what they already have done with the Lunar X Prize and Virgin Galactic.

I just read about Giambi over at Highbrid Nation and the writer over there really put things in perspective for me. The media has really blew the whole "performance enhancing drug" thing out of proportion. One of the other writers on Highbrid Nation did a story on Pac and the craziness surrounding that shooting and I wondered what other were saying about this. It seems to me that this is something the news media refuses to let go. Everyone wants to be the one who solves the crime. In reality what are the chances of us solving a 15 year old crime? And in the end does it matter? That shooting did not lead to Pac's death. He recovered from that shooting. So what's the fuss about?

Well I think it boils down to the fact that if you have Pacino, who is the ultimate hip hop movie icon from his role as Scarface in a film, do you really need anything else to appeal to a urban demo? That and 50 sucks as an actor. Really really suck. In Get Rich or Die Tryin' he did an awful job of playing a character that was basically himself.

I still don't think this movie will ever come out. You can't make a Justice League movie without Batman and Superman. Fans know Christian Bale and Brandon Routhe and those two characters and neither will likely be part of a new Justice league movie. And if they try to recast they will piss a lot of people off.

Honestly as a black person I think it's kinda cool that movie make-up has gotten to the point where you can make someone look like another race and if the pics I've seen of Robert Downy in costume are accurate than they did a really good job! Plus Robert is a very capable actor so I'm sure he wont come across as stereo typical or offensive. I could be wrong though.

It appears that he not only took shots at Ne-Yo but Jay-Z and Young Jeezy too. Can he just hurry up and go to prison already. Geez, he got charged like 6 years ago. Let's have a trial already.

I've always been very vocal in my hate for Akon. I think he's a clown. From darn near raping 14 year old girls to picking up and throwing people off the stage at his shows, hes just a douche bag. I took a little bit of time out and wrote about Akon today over at Highbrid Nation and I hope that the uncovering of his true past is a message to artists and labels that "keeping it real" doesn't mean making up some stuff.

I'm not sure I want to use Facebook for professional purposes. I find MySpace a bit better suited for that. Facebook for me works best as personal network that only includes my closest friends. I guess it is possible to use it as both though.

One of the other bloggers on Highbrid Nation, Juan Perez, wrote about those idiots in South Dakota putting on blackface and honestly I"m not too surprised. Unfortunately as a black man I'm well aware that these type of things happen when there are no black people to witness them. Yet somehow mainstream tries to pretend racism is fading away. It's not fading away, it's just hiding. The days of the KKK are gone but have been replaced with a more passive version where people can do outlandish things like the frat in SD and then they can just turn around and say "sorry we didn't mean to be offensive" and everyone lets it go. This is what Obama is dealing with right now, a nation with tons of racists who don't even know they are.
