in WisCon panel on self promotion for science fiction authors on Fan History's Blog
Great post!! I'm a literary publicist and you are spot on. Although publicists do from time to time book authors for panels or host events or book instore opps our job is to create press opps and buzz. Setting up instore or bookclub events an author can do, so that the author can promote the event.

You're a hot mess with that. LOL As a Georgia Peach I should be offended, but it was Funny and I read between the lines. And what's up with the Cats and misspelled words.

Thanks I didn't know about him. And definitely need the info. :)

Last year my Amazon, Christianbook, all my book affiliate programs grew exponentially. I want to further tap into that and eventually open my own online store. This info would be helpful.

in Is a Search Engine for African-Americans a Step Backwards? on Marketing Pilgrim
Andy, American is different than the UK. We say one thing, but mean something else entirely. We are united, but have cultural differences.

In American society the African American enclave is diverse and far reaching. However, there are some aspects of life that are similar and sensitive only to this group just like any other.

Ross, in my mind, Google is a search engine for mass with European Americans being the mass. If you look at Google News the main page, as an example. Since this election process have I seen so much attention paid to African Americans.

I would like to see more news or information about black people that aren't negative or demeaning, which is what you see on most local and national news, except black news sites.

I just played around with it. There is news section there relevant to African Americans, news that we rarely see on mainstream television, but hear on black radio.

It seems tailored for African American online readers. I think any business who wants to understand this demographic should use it. Any business that wants to reach this market should advertise there.

If someone created a search engine for children, I would like that, too.

So from what I've seen at a glance, this search engine service is fulfilling a niche just like black radio, television, retail, and any other company that recognizes these differences.

in Radio One Tries to Revive Dated Social Networks on Social Times
I have a Black Planet account. For some reason I don't want to take the time to setup and receive all the friend requests. Maybe it's the look of the site. I like what Radio One has done on TV and Radio, so I'll check it out again.

Do you think social networking number is also down because of culture?
