in 5 Events That Have Used Social Media for a Good Cause on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Pay It Backwards day is a really good example of social media for social good. Lots of things happening concurrently: raising money for charity, developing a brand, connecting people, breaking a world record, etc. http://poprl.com/00nm

in Twhirl Makes Yammer Irrelevant on Chris Brogan
The challenge is with large corporations that will likely NOT adopt either Yammer or this combo, the employees can still benefit greatly from the use of Yammer but have no shot at the other solution.
That is what will drive users to Yammer, but no revenue (until they of course end up throwing ads into the ones where the company hasn't taken over).

Found it twice, once on the floor by your wife and once by the TV on the floor right under the starting point.

in Facebook continues to suck on Scobleizer
Facebook rocks if you use it's meant to be used... to connect with *friends* or actual contacts. Nobody I know that's used it in this way has been booted.
Either way, if there is a core problem that's affecting another audience then I'm sure Zuckerberg and Co. are working on it.

I think it was also a usability issue and a failed attempt of plagiarism.
The site itself could have been a lot more user-friendly and in tone with today's commerce startups. As well, they should have tried less to be like a Canadian Woot and more to find their own points of diff. that work for Canadians.
The player in the market that could probably make the most of this concept as a business opportunity would be RedFlagDeals (www.redflagdeals.com), as they already control the user-base and information flow of "deals" in Canada.

More interesting than that fact will be to see how Rogers, in the primetime holiday season with BlackBerry product launches as well, handles their carrier marketing activities.

3 years is normal in Canada, unfortunately for us consumers. Looks like the rumours are true, at least they half got the exchange rates right.

Yikes. I thought 2 years was excessive for any contract, 3 is just downright insane.

in Facebook Sucks, Dave Winer says on Scobleizer
***LOOKING FOR A FACEBOOK DEVELOPER***
I think those of us that were fortunate enough to have connected with Scoble and become "friends" with him on Facebook owe ourselves the recognition.
As such, I'm looking for a Facebook developer that can dedicate a couple hours to make a quick application that will put an icon on someone's profile stating they are part of the "Scoble 5000".
***If interested, leave your contact information here and we'll move forward!****
