in Guidelines for Method Overloading : Dave Donaldson on Arcware
Re-visit this after you get through Robert Martin's "Clean Code." I'd be interested to see if your thoughts on this change any.

in UI Design First, Then Everything Else : Dave Donaldson on Arcware
I'm a fan of UI first (or nearly first) because I think it helps focus on biz needs over tech needs. Do you really need those 85 tables with n-th degree normalization, or can you get away with something leaner because it's all you'll need to fill up those screens -- or the database is more focused on the biz domain at hand.
I also think UI first helps with testing, since you can stub out UI tests based on the design.
At least this is how I feel today, right now... :)

in Paint.NET 3.0 release candidate 1 on Development on a shoestring
Thanks very much for posting up on Tools Day! Paint.NET sure gets a lot of great buzz as a very helpful tool, and I know more and more folks are, like yourself, making it part of the standard set of things to install on new systems.

Scoble, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits and groin. Hell, let's get serious: may a thousand camels infest your armpits and groin.
May you forever have monkeys fling poo at you each time you pass by their cage at the zoo. Don't even think of passing by the elephants.
So there.

What? A Microsoft employee exhibits non-Borg-like emotions and gets angry and frustrated? Inconcievable! How dare you be human!
Carr and some of the other folks responding to you are out of hand themselves. Your post on non-credible journalistic was spot-on, if perhaps a bit passionate. So what? Better to see sterile dreck based on too many anonymous sources?
Ptooey, I say. Good on ya.
