in Windows XP and SP2 and AMD 64 Processors and Problems: FYI | Windows installation | Tech-Recipes on Tech-Recipes
I get same thing as Tom. Mesh Athlon 64 3200 etc. XP working fine before installing SP2 (from official MS CD). thence will not boot, only goes to the DOS like screen offering safemode, boot normally etc etc only thing that worked was safe mode then restore to few days ago. Put CD on the shelf and decided at my age life is just too short for SP2.
