Even better if you've played golf in Scotland with a certain reptile from "K-Street".

Re: So, How’d She Do?

If the questions were deliberately specific to Palin's weaknesses (which,IMHO, requires little effort to choose), she ably responded in J-School fashion by answering the question she wanted, not the one asked.

My local paper polled its readership (unscientifically) and received assurances that less that 3% of readers had EVER changed their votes in response to a "debate". Given that the current two-party media circus is more ceremonial dance than debate, it was really just another chance for people to figure out what Joe Biden looks like and what hockey moms have to say about the third graders back home. While Tina Faye could be the smarter stand-in, Frances McDormand did the original impression in the movie "Fargo" - except McDormand was relentlessly successful under the radar (and won an Oscar). Just because some conservatives "don't get" the hyperbole doesn't make him conservative. I understand you gave both appellations, but he's just not conservative except in the over-the-top, we're all laughing at them, sense.

Re: Doing Battle With the Somali Pirates

Bring back John Paul Jones.

Re: Dick Cheney And Al-Qaeda’s Operational Cycle

No space aliens have landed on my lawn in the past 60 years. Therefore my tinfoil antenna is working!

And, what's more, by triggering trillion dollar wars in Afhanistan and Iraq, and causing untold billions to be spent on "Homeland Security", Al Queda can simply sit back in the cave and laugh as the US destroys its own economy to fight the invisible foe of the global war on whatever.

Re: Hannah Arendt in the Black Sites

What is described is corporatocracy: the manipulation of all conventional forms of government for the enrichment of management and stockholders.
