They should make them wear it outside.
There is really no real "humiliation" if they're all just locked up in a room together.
lol! I think making them them wear skirt is a bit much if they we're only late to work and other tiny little offenses like that...

lol! I actually learned the hiragana AFTER I started using the Genki textbooks.
I really like the format they use.
After a while in the beginning of the book they began to remove all of the the romanji from example sentences.
and somehow I kinda began to remember them ^^
I can't really explain it.
But in a way you are kinda forced to remember it or you can't move on to the next thing without being clueless..especially for self-taught people like me.
I guess that could work for some people...but I would most definitely recommend learning the hiragana first. No matter how you do it.

lol! yeah, shockingly when you see the model wearing them they actually do kinda look okay,
but then when you go down to the picture of the other lady on the phone you kinda realize "oh wow, 3/4 of your ass actually is going to be hanging out" and then you get a nauseous feeling from looking at her picture :P eww.
yeah,I definitely wouldn't suggest wearing these at the mall.
i dunno, maybe if you're at home with a boyfriend or a husband they might be okay :/
But otherwise,they just scream "Lookit me!I'm a slut!Come on,Who wants some?"

It would be cheaper just to scream and cut out the pants part altogether.

in Beginning Japanese II: Pronunciation is King on Tofugu Comments
yeah, some people end up like that because they don't really practice speaking enough...they should practice outside of class too and whenever else they get a chance.
They can spend all day studying their reading, writing, and listen comprehension but when they don't actually practice speaking, they end up not sounding fluent and natural.
Instead they sound like robots that are just plugging words into grammar structures.
I think I'll add another example to Koichi's 'John Mayer' point because this video sums up my point and his:
Speaking Japanese

John Mayer is pretty clever
...but he needs to practice quite a bit more :/
his pronunciation and smoothness is really bad.
He makes it sound all choppy, and that makes you sound like a complete newbie ..and yeah, you do kinda look like an idiot :/

in Why are you learning Japanese? | Tofugu.com on Tofugu Comments
Yeah, I agree with Kdipko.
I've kinda always been drawn to the Japanese language and culture too.
Japanese really does sound beautiful to me :]
The main reason I started learning it was because I liked to talk to people and I wanted to travel there one day and make friends.
And if I wanted to go there one day I figured:
[love of japan] + [love to talk to people] = [learn japanese :D ]

in Learn Japanese from anime in only 5 minutes a day! 1337! | Tofugu.com on Tofugu Comments
love anime but it's not so great for learning the language.I mean, anime is great if you want to practice listening comprehension.
Sometimes you can learn/practice it from watching real japanese TV shows. It's way more practical than learning from some hyped-up cartoon :]
You can hear how everyday people pronounce words, and see their gestures and reactions to certain situations...so I guess you can learn a little about the culture too ^^
