When I first met my step-mother, I could not call her 'mom', so I used her first name. One day on the school bus in the morning, I accidentally said 'ma', and got laughed at for sounding like a hick. Then i screwed up one day and called her mom in front of everyone; dad had a talk with me after that, and it was mom after that.

I've never called my step-father anything, except his first name whenever I referred to him while talking to my mother. When he's there, I just look at him and start talking, but I usually do that with most people.

It is sad to see another show go, but I've heard that this one is not being canceled; rather, I've heard that the story line is being brought to a close. More details somewhere. They were supposed to find Earth... maybe they will, maybe they won't.

It's really too bad that I ended up missing the first half of season three due to moving, but I'll catch up on it soon enough.

I actually just canceled mine yesterday, feel almost the same about it. I've been playing it almost non-stop for 2 years... Maybe it was time to give it a rest.

I'm glad that they still keep characters and accounts around after cancellation, otherwise I would have felt like a hostage to that account.

Oh, I just re-realized that it's about in-laws and not step-parents, once before I thought about posting, and once after; but that's as close as I can get.

Yeah, it sucks that TR had to come to an end, but I completely understand why, that's life. I have nothing against you.

Now that I've had the chance to look, is there a d3 group? (Yes, I was thinking of TR when I started typing this, but I had to ask anyway.)

I'm no longer a part of any team or group, so I'm not sure why I'm even wondering. Old habits I guess.

I don't know if one can knock the other off. Will Steam represent more than just the games they host? As it stands right now, I run Steam and Xfire concurrently. I just realized that my XP Pro install on this computer is only running Xfire and not Steam like my Vista install, so I'll have to fix that after I type this.

I'll join the community after I get Steam to load on this OS. Some time after that I'll post in the forums my take on Steam/Xfire.

I would have posted a response to this had I noticed it earlier. The iPhone might be a great thing and all, but there is one issue that I have with it. There is a device built into the iPhones called a TPM, or Trusted Platform Module. These devices allow certain information-collecting agencies of the government to tap directly into the phone using the backdoor that is the TPM. They can retrieve all of your information, and possibly even listen into your calls.

This is bad because, while some would say that it is another tool useful for catching terrorists, recent legislation now allows for continuous wiretapping of US civilian communications, and this program is permanent. It effectively blocks any use of the 4th amendment and Congress from any sort of protection or oversight. The biggest piece of legislation responsible is the so-called "surveillance gap legislation" that's supposed to be a security update to the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

In effect, if you own an iPhone, you own one of many devices that do or are being planned to contain hardware that serves as a backdoor usable by the government and possibly even hackers. Given the legislation that has been passed recently, It could be used on ordinary citizens. And if you don't believe that, just look back to the wiretapping scandal of just last year involving the NSA, the White House, and such companies as AT&T and Verizon.

Please pass along some of that Monopoly money, I would like to buy a 360 or Wii, but don't even have funny money for it.

I'm not sure if I have any use for it; I already have several text, voip, and file programs which almost never get used.
